2025 Ford F-150 Overview

What’s new:

  • In 2025, many things will probably still be the same.
  • This is a part of the 14th generation F-150, which came out in 2021.

The Ford F-150 is the best-selling car in the US, and it’s not hard to see why. There are models for almost every type of truck buyer. This full-size truck is better than Ford’s smaller Maverick and Ranger, and it comes in a lot of different models to suit almost any taste. There is almost everything in the F-150 line, from a simple work truck to a pickup with leather, technology, lots of chrome, and everything in between. You can also get the heavy-duty Super Duty line or the all-electric F-150 Lightning. We talked about each of them separately. The 2025 F-150 will not be very different from the 2024 model.

For a truck, the Ford F-150 has one of the most useful lines. From the simple XL to the luxurious King Ranch and the tough off-road Raptor, it looks like there is a truck model for every type of buyer. As if that wasn’t enough, you have a lot of ways to make your truck exactly what you want it to be. This is especially true for pulling since an F-150 that has been equipped can pull up to 14,000 pounds. With the built-in trailer brake controller, increased blind-spot warning, and trailer backup assist, the driver doesn’t have to do as much.

Full-size truck competitors are clearly going after the F-150, which makes sense, given how tough the competition is. It’s hard to go wrong with the Toyota Tundra, but the Ram 1500 is a better choice because of its roomy interior and smooth ride. The GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado are still competitive, even though new improvements have been made recently. However, they have yet to find a way to stand out from the rest.

What do they like to live with?

We bought a 2021 Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid so that we could test it thoroughly. We can still use what we found even though it’s not a 2024 model because it’s from the same series of F-150s.

Pros

  • There are a lot of different engines, including choices for hybrid and all-electric cars.
  • Largest amount of cargo and towing ability.
  • Infotainment device that is easy to use.
  • There are many choices for vehicles, such as having a generator built in.

Cons

  • There could be more large or flexible storage choices inside.
  • The onboard generator makes noise when the optional hybrid engine is running.

How does the F-150 get its power? Ford has a lot of different engines and body styles to choose from. A 4WD crew cab was used to test the hybrid engine. In Invoices’ tests, it took 5.7 seconds to get to 60 mph, which is a lot faster than any other pickup with a chassis like that. The gas engine’s rough starting and stopping behavior suggests that this technology could be smoother at low speeds than the 3.5-liter V6 and 5.0-liter V8 engines that aren’t hybrids. All of the powertrains can shift easily and quickly with the 10-speed automatic.

When you guide the F-150, it’s easy to do. Because of this, the car feels more stable on the highway, more agile, and smaller in parking spots. The strong brakes give you faith in their ability to stop, even as the hybrid powertrain gets power back. The F-150 is a fun truck to drive all around because it can carry a lot of weight and pull a trailer.

How does the F-150 make you feel? How comfortable the F-150 is as a car may depend on the decisions you make and the ones you don’t. The front chairs are not only comfortable, but they also have a massage function, three degrees of back support, heating, and airflow. If you choose the Max Recline choice, the front seats can be folded almost flat for sleeping or resting. However, they are less comfortable overall or with side support than the regular seats.

The Ram’s unique coil-spring rear suspension makes the ride better than the F-150’s, but the F-150 still moves comfortably. The tires, the road, and the wind don’t make much noise. Most of the engines that can be used in the F-150 are quiet and make a nice sound. On the other hand, the extra PowerBoost hybrid shakes and makes noises like a portable gas generator while the battery charges.

The climate control system works well and doesn’t need many changes to keep the temperature where you want it to be.

How is the state of the inside? The F-150 can have a huge number of options and controls based on how it is set up. Thank goodness the inner design is simple enough that you never have to think about what you want. Most of the truck’s big knobs and buttons can be used even with gloves on.

Drivers of all shapes and sizes can find a good fit thanks to the many ways the seat, steering wheel, and pedals can be adjusted. There is enough of space for all of the crew members in the spacious crew cab. The front door has large windows and a scalloped edge that lets light pass through the side mirrors and improves vision. The surround-view camera system can be accessed from anywhere and lets you see everything around you.

What’s wrong with the tech? There are a lot of cool technology features on the F-150. The digital gauge panel and 12-inch touchscreen in the middle are easy to use and look good. Basic and advanced driving assistance systems come as standard, as well as smartphone integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can pick from a lot more qualities.

For example, Pro Power Onboard is a great feature that turns the F-150 into a generator. This new idea improves tailgating, camping, building, and being off the grid by adding power outlets to the bed. The engine gives three power output levels: 2.0 kW, 2.4 kW, and 7.2 kW. We like BlueCruise’s hands-free driver help.

How do you store things and tow things? The F-150 is the best light-duty pickup truck for heavy loads and pulling. With the right tools and gear, the F-150 can carry up to 13,500 pounds. That should be enough for most light-duty truck owners, and we’ve found that the 3.5-liter V6 and PowerBoost hybrid powertrains give you enough power to tow safely.

Two,455 pounds is the most weight that the F-150 can carry, which is more than any of its competitors. The F-150 has a smaller truck bed, but it should be able to handle most tasks.

How much fuel does it use? Based on what the EPA says, one of the F-150’s best features is how well it uses gas. For instance, the F-150 with rear-wheel drive and a 3.5-liter V6 engine is said to get 20 mpg on the highway and in cities combined. Compared to a V8-powered Silverado or Ram, that is superior. It gets an excellent 25 mpg combined (RWD) or 23 mpg combined (4WD). The F-150 hybrid is the best car in the range.

Any gas engine should use 87 octane fuel, and fuel tanks come in sizes from 23 to 36 gallons. On the other hand, Ford’s turbocharged engines often did worse in our tests than the EPA predicted.

Is the F-150 a good deal? Based on what the EPA says, one of the F-150’s best features is how well it uses gas. The F-150 is a great car to talk about if you care about that. It can pull the most weight and tow the most, and it’s expected to use the least amount of non-diesel fuel. You can brag about it to your neighbors and friends. There are also a lot of great paint options for the F-150.

Ford hasn’t said anything public about the 2025 F-150 yet as of this writing. We’ll change our advice if anything changes, but based on last year’s F-150, the XLT is a great deal all around. If you can stretch your budget a little, the hybrid engine is worth thinking about because it will save you money on gas over time. If you drive your F-150 a lot on the highway, you should get Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free system. On the other hand, if you use your F-150 a lot for work or play, you should get Pro Power Onboard.

Types of Ford F-150

There are six main trim options for the Ford F-150. They are XL, STX, XLT, Lariat, Platinum, and King Ranch. The Tremor, Raptor, and Raptor R models are not in the regular range. They are designed to be used off-road. The lengths of the beds depend on the type of cab: standard, SuperCab (extended), and SuperCrew (crew cab). The F-150 comes with six different engine choices, as well as different trim kits and cab layouts. Every car has an automatic drive with ten speeds.
