2024 Kia K5 Overview

What’s New?

  • Styles will likely change.
  • Aspects of technology are also likely to be changed and made better.
  • The first version of the K5 will be released in 2021.

The 2024 Kia K5 is an excellent little automobile. In 2021, the K5 replaced the Optima, and we predict a redesign in 2024 to make it seem like other Kias.

Kia’s innovative touch-sensing climate control and infotainment menu panel, which lowers passenger clutter, and a 12.3-inch dual-screen instrumentation and infotainment system that employs one piece of glass are likely new features. Kia may improve the K5’s adaptive speed control and lane-keeping system.

Kia’s LXS, GT-Line, EX, GT trim levels, and powertrains will likely remain unchanged. The GT should keep its 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, while the rest should have a 1.6-liter. We’d want a hybrid engine, but it’s unlikely.

Midsize car sales are falling due to fewer buyers and fewer models. The K5 has fewer competitors, although the Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, and Toyota Camry are all-powerful. The 2024 Kia K5 and Hyundai Sonata work similarly. Improved Hyundai Sonatas are also appealing.

Pros

  • It is nice and quiet on the highway.
  • The powerful engine in the GT trim level is turbocharged.
  • You can choose to have all-wheel drive.
  • Outstanding value

Cons

  • Because the roof slopes, it can be hard to get to the back door.
  • The powerful GT trim doesn’t work as well as it could.
  • There is no choice for a hybrid engine.

K5 movement: how? The standard 180-hp Kia K5 engine is adequate for daily driving. It can reach 60 mph in 8 seconds if travelling straight, like the Honda Accord. Stopping is easy and pleasant. However, it takes longer to reach 60 mph.

The K5 looks sporty, but it’s not. Driving and handling were considered. However, the K5’s simplicity makes it more valuable. The transmission shifts smoothly when passing.

K5 comfort? The K5 is as silent as luxury automobiles on the highway. Seriously. The front seats are comfortable for extended periods due to their cushioning and side bolsters. The suspension softens road bumps without being excessively soft. A three-mode auto setting that limits fan speed makes the temperature control system great. Upper-floor seats are ventilated.

The interior? K5 interiors are designed for ease of usage. Despite the many technical possibilities, all controls are clearly labelled and discovered, so you don’t need an owner’s manual.

The interior has a lot of legroom but needs more space. Tall folks can quickly get in front. It’s easy to see ahead due to the small front roof pillars. A tall rear decklid reduces rear visibility, but not significantly.

Tech quality? The K5 has modern power. The base system includes an 8-inch tablet that responds slowly but is easy to use. On this system, solid shortcut buttons are superior to capacitive touch buttons on the improved 10.25-inch screen, which are impossible to spot without looking. The 10.25-inch screen lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, but the 8-inch screen has. Wireless charging stands with fans and spring-loaded phone holders are available. Four USB ports charged the K5.

Great, high-tech driver aids didn’t falsely alarm. Intelligent Cruise Control slows the K5 near curves to improve adaptive cruise control. Its approach is top-notch.

Are they storing things? The K5 is not a hatchback despite its fastback top. The traditional trunk holds 16 cubic feet and has a broad, low aperture for large items. The trunk seatback releases enable loading of longer articles quickly.

A large bin in the centre armrest, another rubberized phone tray, and a charge station provide enough storage in the cabin. The supports are accessible. Thus, a considerable infant seat should fit.

Is it gas efficient? The K5 will average 31 mpg, like other base-engine cars in its class, according to the EPA. Our regular real-world evaluation route suggests these estimations are accurate. Our 33 mpg on our mostly highway but also city and country itinerary seemed promising.

Buy the K5? Price per feature; the Kia K5 beats ordinary automobiles. Each trim level improves price-to-features. The K5 doesn’t have a head-up display or genuine leather interior accents, but most consumers won’t care. A fully loaded K5 costs less than a Honda Accord.

The K5 is well-built and features superior materials than other automobiles. Hard plastics are still utilised but kept out of high-touch areas to maintain their appearance. Kia warranties are five years/60,000 miles and ten years/100,000 miles for powertrains.

The exterior stands out in a monotonous automobile class. It resembles the Mazda 6 but is sportier—one of those autos you might inspect before entering.

The K5 meets family car performance and entertainment standards. Are you enjoying yourself? The K5 GT may be good, but not in this setup.

Kia has yet to announce the 2024 K5. If anything changes, we’ll recommend the GT-Line based on last year’s K5 lineup. It looks sportier, has wider wheels, and more basic features than the standard LXS. GT-Line trims have all-wheel drive.

Kia K5 models.

Midsize five-seater Kia K5. LXS, GT-Line, EX, and GT are available. Each K5 has a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but the GT is more powerful. GT-Line models include all-wheel drive.
