Different styles of wheels. A new set of controls with two screens. A member of the first wave of Seltos, which came out in 2021. Like many other car companies, Kia makes so many SUVs now that it can be hard to keep track of them all. This is one way to examine the new 2024 Kia Seltos. It is the smaller and less expensive brother of the Kia Sportage crossover SUV. Even so, it has all-wheel drive as an option and is very useful. Kia made a few minor changes to the Seltos for 2024, three years after it came out. This gives the available turbocharged engine more power and gives the look and display screens a new look. Kia has also made the X-Line trim stronger. Contrary to what most people think, the Seltos have a bigger cabin. Like Mary Poppins’ bag, this SUV seems to eat things that shouldn’t be there. The Seltos is the best in its class because it can carry up to 62.8 cubic feet of stuff. There are also different trays, pockets, and sections for minor things, and the liftgate is big. There’s room for people; if you’re under 6 feet 2 inches tall, you’ll have plenty of space. The Seltos is an excellent choice for a cheap SUV that is good for a family. The Chevrolet Trailblazer and the Mazda CX-30 are excellent choices for small crossovers. The Trailblazer and the Seltos are about the same price, but the CX-30 stands out because it has a nice cabin and moves quickly. You could also think about the famous Toyota Corolla Cross and Honda HR-V. Pros vs Cons Pros There is lots of room for stuff. High-end products are used in interior design. Paint choices add personality. Cons Sitting in the front seat for a long time is not fun. That is not very strong to handle. Performance The way the Seltos is driven. A top-of-the-line Seltos SX with a turbocharged engine was put to the test. This small SUV doesn’t move from a stop, but once it’s moving, it’s swift. It’s easy to get up to highway speeds quickly. The transmission makes quick and smooth changes. But as the road bends, the Seltos becomes less impressive. Even though the responsive steering and well-tuned suspension should be good, the Seltos feels too nose-heavy and isn’t suitable for driving with a lot of energy. Comfort How warm and friendly are the Seltos? The Kia Seltos is comfortable enough to drive daily and go on short trips. It handles most highway bumps without flopping. The front seats are fine, but they don’t have enough thigh support or padding to make long trips genuinely comfy. For such a small SUV, the back chairs are comfortable. On hot days, the temperature control system doesn’t work well enough to cool the car completely, and much road noise gets inside. Interior How does the inside look? The Seltos is simple, practical, and has a lot of space on the inside. The Seltos is one of the larger extra-small SUVs, which is contradictory and has enough room for most people. If you have a height that is less than 6 feet 2 inches, the Seltos should fit you nicely in both the front and the back. It is also easy to get in and out of the Seltos. Because the roof beams are so big, it is hard to see. Check the street for right-side traffic. When backing up, the wide-angle rearview camera is without a doubt helpful. Technology How good is the tech? Most Seltos types come with a 10.25-inch entertainment screen with clear graphics and is easy to use. The clean sound and deep bass of the Bose sound system in the test car also made us happy. In our tests, the Seltos’s high-tech driving aids did a great job and did not bother us too much with their warnings. On the other hand, the adaptive cruise control keeps a safe distance from the car in front of it. Storage What about putting things away? The back section of the Seltos can hold a lot of things. Because it has a maximum cargo capacity of 62.8 cubic feet, it is considered to be among the best in its category. Even with the back seats folded down, there is still space for 26.6 cubic feet. A large liftgate opening and enough cargo depth also make it easy to load goods. There is much storage room inside for the people in the front seats. There are many pockets the size of water bottles, a small tray for a smartphone in front of the gear shift, a small box on the dash, and a glove box. Seltos’ kid safety seat anchor points are visible and easy to reach. Backward-facing safety seats are simple to install. Fuel Economy How about the gas mileage? There are several engine choices for the Kia Seltos. Our car had all-wheel drive, and we tried the SX, which had a turbocharged engine that made it more powerful. The EPA thinks that this mix will get a total of 26 mpg. Even though a regular Seltos with front-wheel drive gets a more reasonable 31 mpg combined, it still falls short of the class average. It shouldn’t be too hard to meet the EPA’s numbers in real life. Value Do you want the Seltos? The Seltos is a better deal than most cars in its class because it has many exciting features. Even though it costs a lot, the top SX grade has a lot of extras, like a turbocharged engine. Even though the internal parts aren’t perfect, and the amount of plastic makes it feel cheap, the build quality is good. The restricted warranty and engine warranty from Kia are great. You get an engine warranty for ten years or 100,000 miles and a bumper-to-bumper warranty for five years or 60,000 miles. Wildcard The Kia Seltos could look even more like a Land Rover Evoque SUV using different roof and body paint colors. In the extra-small SUV market, it sticks out without a doubt. The rest of the set needs more creativity. Is it helpful, though? Yes, for sure. What is Invoice Pricing's Recommendation? The Seltos X-Line trim is a terrific deal for the money. For 2024, Kia has made all-wheel drive a $2,200 add-on for the EX grade. The change is worth it because the X-Line looks more rugged, has a more powerful engine, and has comfort features like heated seats. There is also a tablet with a 10.25-inch screen, black roof rails and accents, and other safety features that come as standard. Different Kia Selos There are five different trim options for the 2024 Kia Seltos: LX, S, EX, X-Line, and SX. Most of the time, each one has more features than the last, and the X-Line and SX have better engines. 2024 Kia Seltos Video Review
