2025 Kia Seltos Overview

What’s new:

  • Now, both the EX and SX models come with rear parking cameras as standard.
  • Small changes to the tools that are available.
  • Someone from the first version of Seltos, which came out in 2021.

The 2025 Kia Seltos is one of the most affordable cars from the brand. The small SUV, which is in the middle of the Sportage and the Soul, is a great choice for people who want a bigger SUV than the Soul or who need all-wheel drive, which the Soul doesn’t have. It costs less than the bigger Sportage as well. Unlike most Kia SUVs, the Seltos doesn’t have a hybrid engine. However, the top two model levels come with a more powerful turbocharged engine. After redesigning the Seltos the previous year, Kia only made a few small changes to them for 2025.

The Seltos is a small SUV with a unique and sleek look. You can match the style with one of the two-tone paint options for the outside. The technology inside is what makes the inside stand out. All but the base LX model comes with two 10.25-inch screens as standard. Each of them is one of the biggest in its class. The mid-level EX model comes with a wireless phone charger and a number of driving assistance features. The top-of-the-line SX trim level comes with a Bose sound system and a technology called Highway Driving Assist that helps you drive more automatically. The Seltos’ cabin is big for a small SUV. It has a big cargo area for its class and can also fit tall people.

The 2025 Seltos is a great choice for an extra-small SUV, but there are many other types that are very close to it. Two of our favorite very small SUVs are the Chevrolet Trailblazer and the Volkswagen Taos. The Mazda CX-30 has a strong turbocharged engine and a sleek style, just like the Seltos. The Hyundai Kona, which was just remodeled, and the Subaru Crosstrek are also great choices.

Pros

  • A lot of room for stuff.
  • Given the price, it has a lot of options.
  • Choices of color show who you are.

Cons

  • When you’re on a long trip, the front seats could be more comfortable.

How do you get a Seltos to go? A high-end Seltos SX with a turbocharged engine was put through its paces. This little SUV moves slowly at first, but it picks up speed over time. It’s easy to speed up to highway speeds. It’s easy and quick to change gears. Still, the Seltos lose some of their appeal when the road turns. The Seltos should be good because they have quick handling and tight suspension tuning, but when driven hard, the car feels too nose-heavy and isn’t good for that kind of driving.

How do the Seltos feel about their comfort? You can take short road trips and go about your daily business in style with the Kia Seltos. It seems pretty on the highway and can easily handle most of the bumps. The front seats have enough padding and support for your thighs, but they could be more comfortable for long car rides. Even though this is a very small SUV, the back seats are very comfy.

The climate control system has trouble keeping the car cool on hot days, and a lot of road noise gets in.

How is the inside? The inside of the Seltos is simple, useful, and roomy. As one of the bigger but still smaller SUVs, the Seltos has plenty of room for most people. People under six feet and two inches tall should be able to wear the Seltos in the front and back. Also, getting in and out of the Seltos is relatively easy.

There are thick roof beams that make it a little harder to see. Double-check every so often to make sure no one is coming from the right side. As you back up, the wide-angle backup camera comes in handy.

What’s wrong with the tech? Most Seltos model levels include a 10.25-inch navigation screen with clear, easy-to-use graphics. The Bose sound system in our test car also wowed us with its deep bass and crystal-clear sound. The advanced driver assistance features in the Seltos worked great in our tests and didn’t bother users too much. However, the adaptive cruise control that is now offered is based on more conservative ideas.

What’s going on with storage? The Seltos’ back section is big enough to hold a lot of stuff. It can hold up to 62.8 cubic feet of stuff, which is one of the most in its class. There are still 26.6 cubic feet of space, even with the back seats raised. A large opening in the liftgate and enough cargo space make it easy to load freight.

Inside, there is plenty of room for front passenger storage. A glovebox, a small console box, and a smartphone tray are all located in front of the shifter. Many sections are the size of water bottles. The Seltos’ car seat anchor points are easy to get to and clearly marked so that kid safety seats can be installed. It won’t be hard for you to put in a rear-facing safety seat.

How much fuel does it use? They come with a number of different engines. Our test car, the SX, has a more powerful turbocharged engine and all-wheel drive. The EPA predicts that the pair will get 26 mpg. A regular Seltos with front-wheel drive gets a better 31 mpg combined, but it’s still less than the average for its class. It will be easy for you to match the EPA’s numbers when you’re driving in real life.

Are the prices for Seltos fair? Seltos is the best deal in its class because it comes with an amazingly large number of basic features. The most expensive type, the SX, has a turbocharged engine and many other nice features. The building quality is good, but the materials inside feel like they need to be more solid and good to the touch.

Kia offers great warranties on both the limited and engine parts. The engine is covered for ten years, or 100,000 miles, and the body for five years, or 60,000 miles.

The Kia Seltos SUV looks a lot like the Land Rover Evoque. You can make it look even more stylish by painting the body and roof in different colors. It is unusual for extra-small SUVs, but that is for sure. The package doesn’t come with many interesting things. Is it even possible, though? Without a doubt.

The best value in the Seltos line is the mid-level EX trim. The S model, which has many nice features, doesn’t have heated front seats, wireless phone charging, back parking sensors, or fake leather upholstery. The EX now has these features, but it costs a little more. There’s no need for sunroofs.

Examples of the Kia Selto

There are five different types of 2025 Kia Seltos: LX, S, EX, X-Line, and SX. The X-Line and SX types usually have more features, and the engines are stronger. Read on for a full list of the most important standard and extra features that come with each trim level.
