The Eclipse Cross is a medium SUV from Mitsubishi. It is bigger than the Outlander Sport but smaller than the Outlander with three rows. In some ways, it’s like the middle child. The Eclipse Cross can compete with smaller SUVs like the Volkswagen Taos and the Kia Seltos and bigger ones like the Honda CR-V and the Mazda CX-5. This is because it is a “tweener” size and has a starting price that is a bit high.

For the 2022 model year, Mitsubishi got a makeover. It got a new look on the outside, a better navigation system, and a retuned suspension. Because of this, the Eclipse Cross didn’t change much for 2023. The most significant update is the inclusion of all-wheel drive as standard equipment across the board. LED headlights and foglights are now standard equipment. Mitsubishi has stopped making the SE Special Edition and SEL Special Edition trims. The items in those trims are now in the SE and SEL trims.

Even with the enhancements made over the past year and the addition of all-wheel drive as standard equipment, the Eclipse Cross is not as good as its competitors, not even the more affordable and compact alternatives. It gets the worst gas mileage and handles worse than any other car on the market. It also has terrible technology, tight back seats, and low-quality materials. The Mitsubishi is a good choice because it’s comfy, has an extended warranty, and has good all-around power.

The beginning price is higher than that of one of its smaller rivals and almost as tall as its larger rivals, rendering those benefits less decisive. Most of these rivals are much better SUVs.
