Ford will unveil a new F-150 at the September Detroit auto show. Spy photographs, notably of the highest trim level Platinum model, give us an early, unmasked look at the new pickup truck. Ford CEO Jim Farley reassured conventional F-150 buyers by discussing internal combustion engines and hybrids. Before its debut at the Detroit car show next month, the 2024 Ford F-150 has been spotted. Our spy photographer saw Ford’s gas-powered half-ton pickup truck getting minor tweaks for the 2019 model year. The F-150, notably the Platinum edition, sports a revised grille, headlamps, and front bumper. The redesigned truck headlamps are also seen. As you can see, nothing new has happened, although further modifications may occur beneath the hood. First comes public release. Hybrid focus On Ford’s second-quarter earnings call last week, CEO Jim Farley informed reporters that the revamped F-150 would be displayed at the Detroit auto show, according to the Detroit Free Press. Farley also discussed Ford’s electricity plans and why average truck consumers shouldn’t worry about being forced to buy EVs. Ford sells the electric F-150 Lightning, but Farley said Ford will continue to promote hybrid cars. He told reporters, “We think the demand for our internal combustion and hybrid portfolios could be longer and stronger than most people expect.” We ensured Ford’s profitability during the ICE-to-EV transition. According to Free Press figures, Ford’s hybrid trucks sold 10% of F-150s and 56% of Mavericks. This explains the company’s hybrid model focus.
