The 2024 Nissan Sentra has a new look on the outside, and the front grille and headlights stand out. The interior of the Sentra has been slightly changed, but unlike the Chinese Sylphy, it still has 7.0- and 8.0-inch touchscreen screens. Nissan thinks that the Sentra’s improved ability to start and stop the engine will help it get better gas mileage. Nissan is making small but important changes to the 2024 Nissan Sentra that will make it look better. The small, cheap car, which is now in its sixth generation, needed a makeover. Even though the US version doesn’t seem to be the same, we had a good idea of what might be different after seeing changes to the Sentra’s cousin, the Sylphy, for the China market in March. How many changes there are to the Sentra depend on which trim level you choose. All models come with new headlights, a new front bumper, and 16- and 18-inch wheels. The top-of-the-line SR model also comes with a new colour for the contrast stitching inside and a redesigned back bumper. Less can be seen of the changes on the inside. The 2024 Sentra has the same 7.0- and 8.0-inch infotainment screens as the Sylphy, which has a much bigger 12.3-inch tablet. The improved CVT automatic transmission in the Sentra makes false “shift” patterns that are smoother. When paired with the engine’s new ability to start and stop, these changes to the powertrain should help the already good fuel economy of the standard 2.0-liter inline-four engine. Even though the EPA hasn’t released its fuel economy numbers yet, the Sentra has gotten 33 mpg for the SR model and 32 mpg for the base model in the past. The only important change for the 2024 model is that Nissan’s Nissan Safety Shield 360 package of safety features will be included as standard. Nissan hopes to release the new Sentra at the end of the summer. Until then, details like price won’t be known. We don’t think the price will change much because there won’t be many changes. It will probably start at around $22,000.
