Dodge has once again extended the production of the 2025 Durango SRT Hellcat, carrying it into 2025. At first, the 710-hp SUV was only supposed to be available for one model year, but Dodge has extended production because of high demand. The announcement also reveals the continuation of production for the V-8-powered R/T model, which remains unchanged. The Dodge Durango with a Hellcat engine was only meant to be available for one model year, but it was kept around longer because Americans love V-8 engines. Dodge had to acknowledge that the 2025 Durango would be the last one with a Hemi engine, even though a real “Last Call” was placed for cars in 2024. The company that makes the V-8 Durango has decided to keep making them until 2025. The Hemi Will Not Be Defeated Dodge said that the Durango R/T will be made until 2025, which means that the Hellcat is not the only V-8 Durango that will be back. The top-of-the-line Durango SRT Hellcat, which sends 710 horsepower to all four wheels, is a tough competitor for the Durango R/T, which has 360 horsepower. As 2025 gets closer, it doesn’t look like either form is going to get any mechanical improvements. The R/T should be able to reach 60 mph in 6.2 seconds, while the Hellcat should be able to do it in 3.6 seconds. An eight-speed automatic gear is used for both engines. Carlos Tavares, who used to be CEO of Stellantis, quit not long ago. After a tough year for the company, Tavares gave his notice at the beginning of the month. Corporate sources say that “everyone wanted to keep” it and that Tavares stopped making the Hemi engine after he left. Tavares pushed for it to be taken down. A lot of people have reached their goal now that Tavares is gone. The V-8 Durango will be made for a while longer, with either a 5.7-liter Hemi or a boosted 6.2-liter Hellcat engine.
