• Kia released the K3—a little Mexican-made automobile.
  • 1.6- or 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines power the automobile
  • The K3 is expected to launch before the end of the year. Therefore, we expect it to arrive in the U.S. in 2025.

Kia revealed a little car that could replace the Rio. Since it’s sold as the K3, it’s replacing the tiny Forte, which is sold as the K3 in Korea.

We have yet to determine when this model will launch in the U.S., but it will be built in Mexico at the same plant as Rio and Forte. Kia trademarked “K3” in the U.S. The K5, after the larger K5 mid-size sedan, would be the new entry-level automobile.

A large digital gauge cluster and infotainment screens decorate the K3’s dashboard. Like the Kia EV9 electric SUV, it incorporates LED accent lighting below the headlights. The EV6 steering wheel, door panel, and dashboard trim drawings are intriguing.

Kia says the Rio’s U.S. standard engine is a 1.6-liter inline-four with 121 horsepower. The GT Line has a 150-horsepower 2.0-liter inline-four engine. However, other places offer a 1.4-liter engine. The US-market K3 will likely use a 2.0-liter engine.

We expect more information about the K3’s U.S. release soon. Kia claims it will go on sale in select places in the fourth quarter of this year, which might mean it will come to the U.S. in 2025.
