The 2026 Audi A6 Sedan Debuts a New Generation Featuring Sleeker Styling and a Technology-Focused Interior. Featuring sleek new bodywork, the redesigned A6 boasts a screen-filled dashboard and a 362-hp turbocharged V-6 for U.S. models. The European model (shown here) will be released first, with the U.S. version expected to follow later this year starting at approximately $65,000. Audi first showed us the Avant long roof to get our attention for the new A6 generation. The German company has now shown off the three-box version of the 2026 Audi A6, which will be sold in Europe for the first time. There will be some changes between models sold in the US, but the news we got today gives us a good idea of what to expect. An Even Slippery Sedan The mid-size luxury car looks more powerful and has bodywork that slips around more (a drag coefficient of 0.23) than the new A6. However, the new A6’s subtle design is still easy to spot. That’s less than the just-released A6 Avant (0.25) and the least of any Audi driven by gas. However, unlike in other markets, US laws now make it illegal to talk to other cars. The new Audi A6 is driven by the company’s new Premium Architecture Combustion (PPC) architecture. The Q5 SUV and A5 sedan are also built on this platform. Modern technologies are used in this design, which helps make the A6 ready for the future. The sedan’s already better standard suspension now has a sports suspension that lowers the ride. Audi says that the third choice, optional air suspension, makes the handling better. You can now change the height of the ride with your words for the first time. The A6 also has rear-axle steering, which makes it easier to turn. Four-zone temperature control, ambient lighting with color selection, and a programmable head-up display (now with audio controls) are some of the nice features of the A6. For people who want the best sound experience possible, Audi has a Bang & Olufsen system with up to 20 speakers. There are many upholstery choices and other appealing materials available for the A6. Audi also says that the inside is 30% quieter than before. This is because the new laminated rear windows, better engine mounts, and tighter door and window seals all help to block out noise. The “digital curtain” feature on the panoramic glass roof lets you hide certain areas to keep light out or open them to let light in. Price and Engine Type We know that the A6 will only have one engine, but Audi isn’t saying anything else. The basic 2.0-liter turbo-four engine that made 261 horsepower is no longer on the market. The well-known 3.0-liter V-6 turbocharged engine will be the only choice. Its horsepower has been raised from 335 to 362. That engine is paired with all-wheel drive and an automatic gearbox with seven speeds and two clutches. We are still waiting for pricing and fuel economy statistics. The 2026 Audi A6, on the other hand, will likely start at around $65,000 when it goes on sale later this year.
