The 2026 GMC Sierra EV introduces two additional trims: the off-road-focused AT4 model and the entry-level Elevation trim, which lowers the starting price to $64,495. Additionally, the Elevation and Denali now come with a new Standard Range battery, bringing the Denali’s basic price down to $71,795. This summer is when the 2026 Sierra EV is expected to arrive at dealerships. Since its debut for the 2024 model year, the GMC Sierra EV has only been offered in the opulent Denali trim. However, GMC is adding new models and battery choices to its lineup of luxury electric pickup trucks for 2026. Although the Denali still tops the lineup, the Elevation trim of the Sierra EV lowers the base price by about $28,000. A new AT4 variant that promises off-road prowess is also available. Three Batteries The 205.0-kWh battery of the 2024 Sierra EV can travel 440 miles between charges. Since then, GMC has expanded the range by renaming the current 440-mile unit the Max Range battery and launching an Extended Range battery for 2025. Presently, GMC is introducing an entry-level Standard Range battery for the 2026 model year. The AT4 will have either the Extended or Max Range battery, the Elevation trim will have either the Standard or Extended Range pack and the Denali can have either of the three. Specific capacity in kilowatt-hours was not disclosed by GMC, and range estimates will not be made public until the 2026 model is closer to being released. The tow rating is impacted by the various batteries. The finest stats are provided by the Extended Range unit, which can tow 12,300 pounds in the AT4 configuration and 12,500 pounds in the Elevation and Denali trims. The Sierra EV can tow up to 8,500 pounds with the Standard Range battery and 10,200 pounds with the Max Range pack. The battery also affects the output of horsepower and torque. With 760 horsepower, the Denali Max Range is the most powerful, although the AT4 Max Range can only produce 725 horsepower. The Elevation and Denali Extended Range produces 645 horsepower, while the AT4 Extended Range produces 625 horsepower. While both AT4 versions produce 775 pound-feet of torque and the Elevation Extended Range produces 765 pound-feet, both Denali variants produce 785 pound-feet. For the Standard Range battery models, no numbers were given. Last but not least, every battery charges differently. Built on an 800-volt design, the Max Range and Extended Range units can recharge at up to 300 kW and charge at up to 350 kW, respectively. The 400-volt Standard Range battery has a maximum capacity of 220 kW. Adventurous AT4 When the Sierra EV was unveiled in 2022, GMC initially alluded to a tough AT4 model. With its recognizable red tow hooks, lighted red GMC emblem on the grille, and two inches of increased ground clearance, it’s finally here. The raised coil-spring suspension adds an inch, and the 35-inch all-terrain tires contribute another inch. A front skid plate is also added to the AT4. Along with the automated braking and one-pedal driving mode, there is also a special Terrain Mode. Additionally, the AT4 is equipped with standard rear-wheel steering, which makes GMC’s CrabWalk diagonal driving feature possible. Additionally standard are a head-up display, Super Cruise, and General Motors’ hands-free driving technology. Additionally, the cabin is available in the special Forest Storm color. The MultiPro MidGate, which opens out the back of the cab to enable users to transport objects nearly 11 feet long in the truck’s bed, is part of the Premium package, which is available with the Extended Range battery. The 10.2-kW Energy Transfer Pro system, which accommodates 240-volt and 120-volt outlets in the bed, and a panoramic glass roof are also included in the package. Elevation Lowers The Cost The Elevation is a new base variant for the Sierra EV that sits beneath the AT4. With a starting price of only $64,495, it is significantly less expensive than the $92,290 needed for a 2025 Sierra EV Denali. The Elevation retains its 16.8-inch touchscreen, power-operated frunk, and adjustable MultiPro tailgate despite riding on 18-inch wheels with 33-inch all-season tires. For the Extended Range battery, the Premium option includes a Bose sound system, heated seats, a spray-on bedliner, and the innovative MultiPro Midgate. Additionally, buyers can specify 22-inch wheels, Super Cruise, and the Energy Transfer system; however, the latter two require the Premium package to be installed first. Although it has greater diversity for 2026, the Denali still holds the top rank in the lineup. The Denali’s standard features include Super Cruise, LED lighting around the grille trim, and 22-inch wheels. The Extended Range battery, MultiPro Midgate, glass roof, and 7.2-kW Energy Transfer system are all included in the Premium option. With 24-inch wheels, adjustable air suspension, four-wheel steering, and the 10.2-kW Energy Transfer Pro configuration, the Reserve package goes even further. For 2026, the Denali will also be available in four new paint colors: Magnus Matte, Deep Bronze Metallic, Coastal Dune, and Glacier White Tri-Coat Metallic. This summer, the 2026 Sierra EV will go on sale, and the Elevation’s starting price has been drastically reduced. $64,495 gets you the Elevation with the Standard Range battery, while $8200 gets you the Extended Range pack. The AT4’s Extended Range battery starts at $81,395; the Max Range unit, which automatically adds the Premium package, costs an additional $10,300. The Standard Range battery, which costs $71,795, lowers the entry price for the Sierra EV Denali significantly in 2025. The Denali Max Range, which automatically deducts the Reserve package, costs $100,695, while the Extended Range pack, which costs $79,995, is available with the Premium or Reserve package.
