The 2026 Toyota GR86 Yuzu Special Edition includes all the features of the GR86 Premium with the Performance Pack, but adds a flashier, more attention-grabbing flair. Gloss-black exterior trim and yellow interior details distinguish the Yuzu Special Edition from the crowd. Toyota has set aside 860 Yuzu Special Editions for sale in the US. As you can see, the 2026 GR86 Yuzu Special Edition brings back the spirit of the long-dead Scion name. The 2015 Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 sparked the idea for the Yuzu. It is the fourth special edition of the brand’s second-generation sports car, following the 10th Anniversary, Trueno, and Hakone models. Scion’s FR-S sports coupe got a second chance in the US as the Toyota 86, which came before today’s GR86. However, Toyota’s bold entry-level brand, which sold cars from 2004 to 2016, died before it reached its teen years. Like its predecessor, the Yuzu has gloss-black accents and a yellow paint job on the outside. To finish off the color scheme, there is yellow stitching on the steering wheel, parking brake handle, doors, and front seats. There are also faux-suede inserts with yellow designs. As a proper tribute to Scion, the Yuzu has attachment choices that let owners live out or relive their hopes of street racing in the early 2000s. This includes a flashy new body kit and a cat-back exhaust system with four ridiculously big silver GR-shaped tailpipe tips. Sachs shocks and Brembo brakes make the Yuzu a lot like the GR86 Premium but stronger. The Performance kit includes rebuilt front calipers with four pistons and rear calipers with two pistons. The front and rear rotors can be 12.8 inches in diameter. Adding the Performance pack could make the 2025 Toyota GR86 cost as little as $1500 more or as much as $2020 more. The Yuzu has the same 2.4-liter flat-four engine with 228 horsepower found in lower-end GR86 cars. People who buy the limited edition car can choose between an automatic transmission with six speeds or a manual transmission. Toyota only plans to bring 860 Yuzu Special Edition cars into the US, the same number of cars that were made for the 10th Anniversary, Trueno, and Hakone versions of the second-generation GR86. We don’t know how much the whole 2026 GR86 model line will cost, but the current trade war with the federal government will cause the price to jump by a huge amount. The GR86 will keep its current starting price of less than $32,000, and the Yuzu Special Edition will cost a little more than the Hakone Edition’s $36,405 price tag if the new retaliatory tariffs are dropped. If Toyota has to charge customers more because of taxes, add a few stacks to those numbers. The 2015 FR-S Release Series 1.0 cost $31,760, which is a little less than $42,000 now. The Yuzu Special Edition will likely lower the price of the car that it was based on, taxes or not.
