The 2025 Jeep Recon EV has made its first undisguised appearance on the brand’s website. The photos display the electric off-roader without doors, featuring an updated version of Jeep’s seven-slot grille. We are still awaiting the official reveal of the Recon EV, which is set to take place before it becomes available for sale in late 2025. If you missed the new Jeep Recon EV in the Super Bowl ad last week, here is your chance to see it now. Spy photos of a partially disguised test mule driving on public roads and digitally rendered pictures of the upcoming all-electric off-roader have already been made public. However, the new pictures on Jeep’s consumer website are our first look at the Recon EV in its full reveal, even though it is still in pre-production. Both the Jeep Wrangler and the Recon have doors that can be taken off. The EV doesn’t have traditional four-wheel drive or solid front and back axles, but two electric motors should give it four-wheel traction. All-terrain tires should help on rough terrain, and the Recon’s low overhangs and high ride height should make it easy to go off-road. Even though Jeep’s website doesn’t show the inside, our spy shots show a cabin with digital screens, a grab handle on the passenger side, a center console that can be locked, and buttons that can be used as door handles. The pictures of the Jeep show red escape hooks on the front and back, as well as roof rails and a spare tire on the back. Most of the brand’s electric cars are blue, like the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrids. Blue tow hooks can also be seen on the prototype Recon EV we saw in the field. The change in color isn’t clear—it could be a distraction, a departure from the blue that EVs are known for, or a hint that Jeep might offer gas and hybrid powertrains for the Recon along with its electric one. Anyway, Jeep’s website says the Recon EV will be ready in late 2025, so we should find out more in the coming months.
