• The only change for the 2024 Toyota 4Runner is a new color.
  • The orange-brown Terra will have a TRD Pro trim level.
  • Not much else can be said about paint.

Plate tectonics and the Toyota 4Runner make almost the same amount of growth each year. The fifth version of Toyota’s body-on-frame mid-size SUV debuted at the Texas State Fair in 2009. Since then, it has been a regular at Toyota dealerships across the country, and for the 2014 model year, it got a mid-cycle facelift. And if a beautiful new paint color has anything to do with it, it won’t go away soon.

Toyota showed off the 2024 4Runner, but the Terra is the best thing about the new model year, as you may have already guessed. This orangey-brownish earth tone will be offered on the TRD Pro trim, designed for off-roading, and is also the most expensive.

The 2023 4Runner TRD Pro costs $56,015, but the 2024 model costs $56,315, which is $300 more. If you want that paint, you could get a 4Runner for as little as $41,850. It could still happen, though. Unlike the expensive off-road models, which only come with four-wheel drive, most trims let buyers choose between rear- and four-wheel drive. The 40th Anniversary Special Edition of 2023 isn’t on the ship this year because 41 isn’t a big deal.

The 4Runner will keep going in 2024 in every other way. The car still has the same 4.0-liter V-6 engine, which makes 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed automatic gearbox sends power to all four wheels. All of the models can pull up to 5,000 pounds. The Toyota Safety Sense P driver assistance tools come standard on every 4Runner. These include automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, and emergency braking.
