The first pictures of Zeekr’s third model, the X, a crossover, have been released. Zeekr is a Geely company. The X will be made on the same platform as Geely’s Smart #1, Lotus Eletre, and the soon-to-be-released Polestar 5. Zeekr says that in the next few months, more information will be shared, and the X will reach 62 mph in 4.0 seconds. Zeekr has shown the first pictures of its third model, a small crossover called the X. This is different from how the Chinese brand names its cars, which are always a number. Zeekr is owned by the Chinese car company Geely, which also owns 82 percent of Volvo and 51 percent of Lotus. A recent Reuters article said that Volvo is making an electric van for Asian markets based on the body Zeekr 009, which is the company’s second model after the 001 waggon. Zeekr cars are only sold in China right now, but the X crossover was designed at the company’s headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden, which is also the international headquarters for Volvo. Even though the design looks similar to the brand’s first two products, it looks different. The two-part headlights are similar to the 001’s front end, which was inspired by Geely and Volvo’s Lynk & Co brand. However, the 009’s sharp, angular creases make it different from the flat sides of the 001 and 009. Zeekr also likes how the doors and side mirrors don’t have frames, which makes the crossover more aerodynamic. The Zeekr X is an inch longer than the Volvo XC40 Recharge at 175.2 inches, and its wheelbase is 1.9 inches longer than the Volvo’s at 108.3 inches. The electric XC40 is 3.1 inches shorter and an inch shorter in width, coming in at 61.9 inches tall and 72.3 inches wide. The X is an electric crossover built on Zeekr’s Sustainable Experience Architecture platform, which has also been used for the 001, 009, Smart #1, Lotus Eletre, and the soon-to-be-released Polestar 5. No information has been given about the X’s engine. Zeekr says that the X will be able to go from 0 to 62 mph in 4 seconds. Soon, we should have more information, and the big reveal is set for April. The Zeekr X will also be the company’s first product to be sold in Europe after its release in China at the end of this year.
