• After the 2024 model year, Alfa Romeo’s fast Quadrifoglio cars will no longer be sold in North America.
  • That name will be brought back to life for a new car, but it will probably use electric power in the form of a hybrid or battery-electric drive.
  • Larry Dominique, Senior Vice President of Stellantis and Head of Alfa Romeo and Fiat North America, confirmed the sad news on LinkedIn.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and its twin, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio, are about to lose their shine after being famous for more than ten years. Larry Dominique, who is in charge of Fiat North America and Alfa Romeo, wrote on LinkedIn that the sad news was true.

After 2024, Alfa Romeo will no longer make the Quadrifoglio and Giulia cars

Dominique says that the last Quadrifoglio cars will be made at the plant in Cassino, Italy, in June 2024. Dominique wrote, “This is the last chance to own a Quadrifoglio with only combustion engine technology as we continue to change into an electric future, but this is not the end of the story.” She meant that the Quadrifoglio line as a whole would not end. “I look forward to presenting the next chapter in the four-leaf clover’s journey.”

In Dominique’s tweet, if Alfa Romeo does decide to bring the QF models back to life, the new ones will probably be electric, either with a hybrid or battery-electric engine. It might have changed since last year, but we heard that the next-generation Giulia Quadrifoglio would be an electric car (EV) with up to 1000 horsepower when it comes out as early as 2025.

Alfa Romeo is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the four-leaf clover Quadrifoglio badge, which is proudly shown on its high-performance cars at the same time as the news. The sports car and performance SUV are two of the special 100th-anniversary models. The latest quad-turbo 2.9-liter V-6 engine, which was made in Italy and was influenced by Ferrari, gives both Quadrifoglio models 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. But those numbers only tell half the story. Recently, our own Ezra Dyer wrote a long poem about the Giulia Quadrifoglio’s charm and allure. To put it more simply, he said, “fire up the 505-hp 2.9-liter V-6 and spend a moment listening to it gargle M-80s.”

Even though they have a bad image for not being reliable (as shown by our 40,000-mile long-term test), the sporty Alfas are very appealing and cute. We’ll miss the Quadrifoglio brothers, but we can’t wait to find out more about Alfa’s powerful performance in the future.
