• The new OEM Automotive Parts Shop makes it easier for Amazon customers who need replacement parts or car accessories to get what they want.
  • Amazon Garage, which the company started in 2006 and has grown by 20% yearly since 2020, is tied in with personalization.
  • When you locate what you’re looking for on Amazon’s website, you can have it shipped, picked up, or sent to a local store.

Amazon’s new OEM Automotive Parts Store lets you share what you see online with your local dealer to acquire the correct item. With the new shopping feature, consumers can use filters to look for genuine OEM parts for most vehicles, such as cars, SUVs, trucks, motorcycles, and scooters. The key is that Amazon now works with nearby car dealerships to sell tens of thousands of parts and accessories.

People can do more than sell parts on Amazon and ship them out with the new Shop. Amazon’s new OEM Automotive Parts Shop connects a customer who needs the correct oil filter with a nearby dealer who has that filter on the shelf. Amazon says the new Parts Shop has “clear price listings for each item” and “detailed product and fitment information straight from manufacturers and sellers” to ensure people buy the right product.

Because Amazon is working with automakers, selling partners like dealerships can now offer discounts to people in the U.S. and other countries. So, after you get your 5% discount, Amazon can directly deliver the filter to your door or one of the nearby service providers listed on the product page. There are also in-store options; some can be picked up the same day.

In 2006, Amazon added a “Garage” feature, which lets users enter information about their cars and narrow search results by make and model. Customers can also use Amazon Garage to get service suggestions and order new parts. Amazon has worked with car companies to add local dealers and their parts supply to this redesigned Shop because of its ability to be customized.

U.S. customers have parked 20% more cars in Amazon Garage since 2020. This shows that customers want to shop for parts and accessories for their vehicles as they shop for other consumer goods, said Ernie Linsay, Amazon’s director of automotive, in an interview with Car and Driver. This made us want to work with OEMs to give customers a more comprehensive range of online choices.

The OEM Shop still needs to be completed; more work is required. Some companies, like Tesla and Mini, are not on the list of brands. The Amazon deal doesn’t cover Tesla, but it does cover Mini. A separate Mini section is advertised at the top of the screen, and Mini parts can be found using the BMW filter. Mini drivers, you are not alone.
