In 2024, the electric Audi Q8 e-tron gets a beautiful makeover with a new hood and different lights. The German car company is now giving the gas-powered Q8 new headlights and a new hood to make it look more like the electric Q8. The high-performance SQ8’s 4.0-liter solid V-8 engine will also return in 2024.

The 2024 Q8’s design has been tweaked in small ways that give the front of the car a smoother, more luxurious look. The grille is softer than it used to be and runs into the headlights, just like the Q8 e-tron. All types now have a new exhaust system, and the air intake on the front bumper has been made more prominent. The front spoiler, back diffuser, grille, side view mirrors, and air intakes on the SQ8 have all been changed and now have aluminum accents. As an extra package, the grille, window, and bumper trim can all be finished in gloss black to make the car look more evil.

The Q8 will have high-tech laser lights that make the high beams reach farther, and the look of the Matrix LED headlights has also been changed. The form of the rear light bar is now more straightforward, and it can be equipped with Audi’s digital OLED lighting. On high-end models, the control screen lets you choose four ways to light up the daytime running lights.

The B-pillar now shows the model name and trim level of the gas-powered Q8, just like it does for the electric e-tron cars. There are five types of wheels with diameters between 21 and 23 inches. There are also three new colors for the Q8, like the eye-catching Sakhir Gold shown above. The Q8’s interior has been updated with new materials, and Audi has added more third-party apps, such as Spotify, that can be used with its entertainment system.

With an eight-speed automatic gearbox, the Q8’s 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 engine still sends 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels. The engine now has 48-volt hybrid-assist technology that returns the energy when the car brakes, smooths out the start-stop feature, and lets the car coast without running for up to 40 seconds.

The 4.0-liter V-8 engine in the SQ8 makes 500 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. The Q8 S has an eight-speed automatic engine and all-wheel drive, just like the Q8s, with lower prices, but it also has a torque-vectoring rear differential and active anti-roll bars. Steel springs are still the standard for the Q8’s suspension, but customers can update to an adjustable air suspension or rear-wheel steering to make their SUV more agile. Standard on the SQ8 are air springs, changeable dampers, and steering from the back wheels.

The updated Q8 will come out this winter. Prices and more information about its US specs will be available soon. Due to the small changes, we don’t think the 2024 model will have a significant price increase. Instead, we believe the Q8 will start at around $75,000, and the SQ8 will start in the high-$90,000 range.
