Four Honda models and one Acura are being called back because of a problem with the brakes that has to do with cylinder separation and could cause the brakes to fail. Submittals to the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) show that 124,077 cars may be impacted. No, later than August 7, 2023, the owners will be told about it. Honda and Acura are recalling several cars because of a problem with the brakes that could make them less effective or stop them from being used fully. The recall affects Honda Civics from 2020 to 2021, Passports from 2021 to 2023, Pilots from 2020 to 2022, Ridgelines from 2020 to 2023, and one Acura MDX from 2020. According to the official recall notice sent according to the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), the problem is caused by poor assembly of the tie rod fastener that connects the brake master cylinder and the brake booster. The brakes may separate from the booster if the master cylinder breaks its tie rod studs, according to the paperwork. Because of this mistake in how the brakes were made, they may stop working or become less effective, making the car more likely to crash. Honda has received two warranty claims about the problem, but no crashes or injuries have been reported. In August, Honda will send out recall letters, and owners can check the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website for recalls to see if their car is affected.
