This is the first picture of the 2024 Lexus GX, the company’s best off-road vehicle. The pictures look like they are based on the new Toyota Sequoia for 2023, which has a brutalist style with many sharp folds and harsh lines. The Sequoia and Tundra pickup trucks will likely share the GX’s frame and hybrid V-6 engines. Lexus’s last preview for the new 2024 GX, which you can see above, is the best look we’ve seen so far. The picture of the new SUV splashing in the mud and looking tall, boxy, and harsh suggests that Lexus will stress the off-road aspect of this new body-on-frame mid-sizer even more. When Lexus makes public announcements later this week, we’ll know more. Lexus released an even more detailed teaser picture that shows the back of the 2024 GX SUV. It has a full-width LED taillight, a squared-off D-pillar, and broad shoulders. We’re excited to see what it offers when the new mid-size luxury sport-ute comes out on June 8 at 8 p.m. Eastern time. Finally, a new Lexus GX is on its way. The Japanese luxury brand gave its first hint about the 2024 GX today. The update will be the first significant change to the full-size SUV since the current model came out for the 2010 model year. The GX has mostly stayed the same in the last ten years, even though it’s had a few facelifts. The teaser pictures suggest that the 2024 Lexus GX will have a modern, sleek new look that will bring the SUV into the 2020s. In the two sneak shots, the GX’s lighting is shown by its headlights, which are sharp and pointed. They are under a strong, well-shaped hood, matched by a strong wheel arch. The GX will have a beautiful full-width taillight with a ‘Lexus logo built right into it. The original Lexus spindle grille has been kept, and the whole car follows the design philosophy of the current Toyota Sequoia. Lexus only said that the new SUV was “coming soon” and said nothing else. The shots didn’t say anything else, either. The GX will likely be built on the same TNGA-F base as the Lexus LX, Toyota Tundra, Sequoia, and Toyota Land Cruiser (which isn’t sold in the US). The GX will likely not have a V-8 engine. Instead, it will have a twin-turbo V-6 engine, possibly the hybridised i-Force Max system in the Tundra and Sequoia. Even if the engine in the 2024 GX is smaller, it should still have the same body-on-frame form and be very well off-road.
