• For 2024, Porsche has added two new Panamera models: the 4 E-Hybrid and the 4S E-Hybrid.
  • The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid has 463 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. The S model has 536 horsepower and 55 pound-feet of torque.
  • The price of the 4 E-Hybrid starts at $117,495, and the price of the 4S E-Hybrid starts at $128,795.

The newest Porsche Panamera model came out last fall. It looks better, has a new cabin, and has more horsepower. At first, Porsche only offered the base V-6 and the top-of-the-line V-8 Turbo E-Hybrid. Now, they offer a range of hybrid powertrains. The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and 4S E-Hybrid with a V-6 engine will be released this fall after the Turbo model.

Beginning in 2024, the Porsche Panamera V-6 E-Hybrids will have up to 536 horsepower

Updated the engines

The new E-Hybrid models have a 2.9-liter V-6 turbocharged engine that has been changed. The base Panamera doesn’t have a hybrid engine, but the 4 E-Hybrid does. It has a six-cylinder engine that makes 300 horsepower. When the electric motor from the hybrid system is added, though, the power goes up to 463 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Porsche thinks that the 2024 model will reach 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, thanks to its eight more horsepower than the current 4 E-Hybrid.

But if you upgrade to the 4S E-Hybrid, the turbo V-6’s full 348 horsepower is released. The electric motor and gas engine together give the 4S E-Hybrid an amazing 536 horsepower. This actually has 16 less horsepower than the last 4S E-Hybrid. Even though the 4S E-Hybrid 553 pound-feet of power hasn’t changed, it still gets to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. The top speed of 180 mph is six mph faster than the type that isn’t a S.

The new 21.8-kWh battery that powers the electric motor is the same as the one in the Turbo models. Porsche says that the 11-kW onboard AC charger can fully charge the battery in 2.5 hours. The e-motor, which can produce up to 331 pound-feet of torque, is built into the PDK gearbox case and is connected to the same oil circulation system, which helps the car weigh less.

It is expected that the E-Hybrid will have an EPA-rated electric range of about 30 miles. It can run on electricity alone until the battery dies. The Panamera then goes into Hybrid Auto mode, which looks at the route and how the driver acts to figure out the best way to use both the gas engine and the electric motor. In E-Charge mode, the engine charges the battery up to 80% while going faster than 34 mph. In E-Hold mode, the battery level stays the same. Because this is a Porsche, there are also Sport and Sport Plus modes.

Some more important information

Every new Panamera comes with a two-chamber air suspension system with springs that can be adjusted. The E-Hybrid can also come with Active Ride, which uses the 400-volt electrical system to control a hydraulic pump at each damper. This keeps the ride level while moving quickly and reduces body movements caused by bumps. It also makes getting in and out of the car easier because it can be raised and lowered.

The models look different from one another. There are 20-inch wheels, red brake calipers, and silver tailpipes on the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid, but only 19-inch wheels and black brake calipers on the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid. You can get the 4S’s 10-piston brake calipers in acid green or black. If you get the 21-inch wheels, you can also add Porsche carbon ceramic composite brake rotors.

New electric hybrid cars are very expensive. The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid starts at $117,495, and the base Panamera V-6, which isn’t a hybrid, costs $101,550. The starting price for the 4S E-Hybrid drops to $128,795, which is about $7K more than the 2023 E-Hybrid. You can place an order until the end of March, and you should start getting it this fall.
