The BMW Group, a German luxury automaker, has reported a significant sales milestone in India: a 5% rise in total sales of its automobiles in the first half of 2023. The corporation reported record-breaking sales for the first half of the year. The first half of 2023 was the company’s most significant half-year sales in India, with 3,91 MINIs and 5,476 BMWs sold, as reported by PTI. BMW Group India President Vikram Pawah says, “The (luxury car) market is finally expanding, which is exactly what we all expected,” but adds, “For us, it is also driven by new models that have given us a lot of growth.” Even while supply chain constraints persisted from last year through the first four months of 2023, he claimed BMW nevertheless managed to grow. “During the first four months of the year, supply remained low, and our new models had not yet arrived,” Pawah claims that May and June indicate our progress thus far. The BMW Motorrad brand, which produces high-end motorcycles, saw sales of 4,667 units from January to June, up 50 percent year-over-year. Over 8,000 orders were placed over the time mentioned above period, an all-time high for BMW India. According to Pawah, it accurately reflects how customers feel about the company’s brands. The company claims that the BMW X1 alone accounted for over 20% of total sales and that BMW’s SAV lineup was responsible for over 50% of sales. Pawah claims that sales of BMW’s i7, iX, i4, and MINI SE electric vehicles are rising rapidly.
