• Someone is trying to contact Brian O’Conner on the Fast & Furious white cell phone. Bring a trailer because it’s an Eagle Talon with turbochargers!
  • Not many of these cars made it during the sport-compact craze.
  • This is a great example of a rare car from the 1990s. It has only 30,000 kilometers on it.

Over two hundred and thirty years ago, an Eagle Talon went 150 mph in a parking lot. This event was shown in movies all over the world for the first time. Now that I think about it, it doesn’t seem likely. But the first Fast & Furious movie changed culture in a way that will last for a long time. Coronas is a close family member. Indeed, there was a place in Normal, Illinois, which isn’t likely a place for a car factory, where Chrysler-Mitsubishi coupes were made.

Bring a Trailer that has a Hero Coupe from the 1990s and an Eagle Talon TSi for sale

Talon! This Eagle-branded coupe was a good driver in real life, not just on screen. It was also the most aptly named of Diamond Star Motors (DSM) three cars—the other two are the Mitsubishi Eclipse and the Plymouth Laser. Bring a Trailer, which is part of Hearst Autos, is auctioning off a very rare 1998 Eagle Talon TSi AWD with the five-speed manual transmission that people want. At the time, this was the most like a Lancer Evolution we had. It had real turbocharged small-engine speed.

The Talon’s looks are still cool more than 25 years after it was first sold. It has an uneven hood bulge and a blacked-out roofline that looks like a fighter plane canopy; not even the back spoiler is too much.

Of course, what really makes people want to visit the Talon is hidden below the surface. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder 4G63T engine only makes 210 horsepower, according to the manufacturer, but it is known in the tuning world for putting out huge amounts of power. Boost the turbocharger’s power, add more fuel to the combustion chamber, and yell Monica! as you watch your competitors fade away behind you.

On the other hand, stop doing that. This Talon is special because it has yet to be messed with by a group of people who want to be Dominic Toretto. The Tein coilovers have lowered the ride height a bit, but the car is still in stock. There are no tacky plastic body add-ons or major engine changes. When Talons got to their third or fourth owner, most of them didn’t make it through the days of clumsy garage tuners. This one has only 30,000 miles on it, so it doesn’t look like it was teased.

This Talon is one of the few cars that still works from a time when sport compact performance was almost at its peak. You can get away with making a few simple changes to the engine to make it run faster. At the moment, the Normal site makes Rivian EV trucks and SUVs. Both are faster in a straight line than a Diamond-Star coupe with more power.

Take the chance to drive and enjoy a fun machine that was one of the fastest on the market in the 1990s. Instead, let fictional street racers do the drag racing. Do not bring the NOS bottles with you. Instead, go to Bring a Trailer to buy. The sale ends on August 6.
