It is well known in Europe that Alpina makes unique changes to BMWs. This B6 merges the performance of a tuned inline-six engine with the agility of a 3-series chassis. The interior features personalized details, such as the seats, steering wheel, and gearshift. A BMW is not the only Alpina. The white frame did, in fact, originate from BMW’s Bavaria facility. Conversely, every vehicle is hand-assembled and assigned a unique VIN by the German government, which views Alpina as a genuine manufacturer. However, BMW’s adoption of it was quite recent. No matter what, every Alpina is an absolutely one-of-a-kind, very desirable vehicle. Indeed, one is in the works. The Hearst Autos company Bring a Trailer is auctioning off this 1984 Alpina B6 2.8, which is an E30 BMW with some beautiful upgrades. Based on the 323i, the Alpina model has an inline-six engine that has been tuned to perfection, as well as improvements to the outside and inside. Check out how great these famous 20-spoke wheels from the 1980s look on this car. Wonderful. This example is thought to be the third of only 259 ever made, which makes them even more desirable. Outside, the Alpina gold stripe package is put on top of glossy gray paint, and there are also brand-new spoilers on the front and back. On the inside, there is a Momo steering wheel with four spokes, Alpina dials, and a shift lever, and Recaro sport seats with Alpina stripes. When you look more closely at the Alpina crest, you can see that it has an engine and carburetors, which are the tuning parts that the company used to be known for. The B6’s 2.8-liter engine came from the Alpina workshop tuned with Mahle pistons, changed combustion chambers, more compression, and changes to the camshaft and exhaust. It made 210 horsepower overall, and a limited-slip differential sent that power to the back wheels. With H&R lowering springs, this one sits a little lower than the original and has new Bilstein dampers. People have said nice things about the E30’s basic drive experience, and the new version should be even better. The tuned inline-six provides power in a fundamentally different way, similar to 5-series power in a 3-series chassis, even though it has a little more power than an E30 M3. The sheer amount of work that has already been done here is much better. The seller has already changed the gas tank, the frame, the brakes, and everything else. The complete change took eight months, and most of it was filmed, which you can see. This is the only chance you’ll ever get to own a made, BMW-quality beauty. Alpinas are even harder to find in the US than they are in Europe. December 11 is the last day to bid.
