Our 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross LE has many features for a small SUV. Among other things, it has adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping, and blind-spot tracking. When our Cypress Green Corolla Cross was added to our fleet, it was missing one part that was common to all of them. Even though the infotainment system had a simple map button, the 2022 Corolla Cross did not come with navigation in any form. Toyota realised its mistake and plans to release a new infotainment system with directions in 2023. Early Corolla Cross buyers missed a lot, especially now that Toyota has a new set of active and driving assistance features called Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 for the 2023 model year. We spent some time with the new Hybrid model to check out some of the features that our car didn’t have. This helped us better understand what new Corolla Cross buyers will get in the future. We went on a 600-mile road trip to test the automaker’s mapping system and get a good look at the changes.
