• A Japanese oil company called Eneos brought three exciting cars to the 2023 SEMA show. One of them was a 1969 Jaguar E-type that had the famous 2JZ-GTE engine from the Toyota Supra put into it.
  • In the 2003 Nissan 350Z, you can see another strange engine swap. It has two Honda K24 engines and two Honda five-speed manual gears.
  • The Toyota Land Cruiser truck that Eneos used before was based on a 1997 model, but a pickup body from 2009 was sent in from the Middle East.

At this year’s SEMA show, the Japanese oil company Eneos showed off three versions. A 2003 Nissan 350Z with two Honda K24 engines that looked almost nothing like the real thing, a tall Toyota Land Cruiser truck, and a sleek blue 1969 Jaguar XK-E 2+2 with a 2JZ-GTE inline-six engine from a Toyota Supra were also shown.

A traveler named Faruk Kugay came up with the idea for the Jaguar. There are many changes to the 2JZ inline-six engine. It has a new head casting, fuel system, fuel injectors, cylinders, and rods, and it also has a Borg Warner turbocharger with a performance intercooler. Eneos thinks the 3.0-liter engine should make about 750 horsepower after an ECU tune.

The E-type has the back subframe, suspension, and differential from an E60 BMW 5-series, which makes things even more confusing. All that power comes from the E36 BMW M3’s ZF five-speed manual gearbox. Bridgestone Potenza RE-71 RS tires are wrapped around the 17.0-inch Rotiform STL wheels to get the most out of that power. According to rumors, the XK-E was based on the original Jaguar Lightweight E-type. It has wider 3-D printed carbon fiber reinforced fenders to fit the rollers and give the Jaguar a more aggressive look.

Ashley Robinson of MLZ Garage changed this 2003 Nissan 350Z, which is even crazier than the Jaguar. Robinson bought the first car for $800, but it has been chiefly taken apart to make room for a roll cage because the back end was broken when he got it. Inside the metal bars is a Honda K24 four-cylinder engine that is turbocharged and paired with a Honda EP3 five-speed manual transmission. The front of the Nissan is the same, with two engines and two manual gears. Robinson found a way to link the two powertrains.

The Nissan looks as crazy as it is to drive, with its broad side flares, open roll cage, and 19-inch Weds LXZ wheels. The front and back sizes of the Kumho tires are 305/30 and 355/30, respectively. Hyundai Genesis front brake and dual 350Z rear brake calipers stop the car. Robinson’s body floats in the air, and the carbon fiber doors and hood (taken off for the performance) make up the body.

Remember the scary 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser truck? The truck was made by RPM Off-Road Garage in California from a broken ’97 Land Cruiser FZJ80 and a 2009 HZJ79 pickup body brought in from the Middle East, where you can still buy old Land Cruiser pickups. The Land Cruiser Heritage Museum in Utah is where both pieces were purchased. Before adding the truck body, the frame from 1997 was stretched out by 18 inches. A 4.5-liter Toyota 1FZ-FE inline-six engine gives the car its speed. The wheels are 17.0-inch bead locks and have 37-inch Toyo Open Country M/T tires on them. New springs give the car a scary 6.0-inch lift. Even though it’s not as unbelievable as Eneos’s other two cars, the Land Cruiser build is still an excellent machine.
