Our first look is the midsize three-row 2024 Kia Sorento between the Sportage and Telluride. The 2020 Sorento’s midcycle makeover stands out with its new front end and panoramic curved display. We’ll learn more about the Sorento’s makeover soon, but we like its athletic, roomy design. Two disguised 2024 Kia Sorentos and two Hyundai Santa Fes performed altitude tests in California. 2024 Sorento’s front is different. Its bravery and forward-thinking are exemplary. Vertical headlights that form a “T” with narrow running lights have replaced rectangular headlights. The Kia emblem is now at the bottom of the hood instead of in the grille. Body-colour trim separates the more prominent grille from the headlamps. The bumper and skid plate are now one, and vertical air slots exist below the headlights. Headlights will change. Like other recent Kias, the 2024 Kia Sorento’s interior is dominated by a curved, panoramic display that integrates the twin 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and entertainment system panels. Screens will use the latest Kia navigation system. Modern vertical air vents finish off the dashboard’s elegant horizontal vents. A switch above the center desk controls temperature and entertainment. Fingerprints unlock valet mode and start the engine in the worldwide Sorento. The Sorento has five exterior and three interior colours, including a new black/olive-brown. Wheels and interiors will also change. The 2024 Sorento may retain its current powertrains, which include a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid, a 2.5-liter normally aspirated four-cylinder, and a plug-in hybrid with a 66.9-kW electric engine.
