• Aston Martin has done it: Presenting the Goldfinger Edition of the Aston Martin DB12, celebrating the enduring partnership between the British carmaker and the James Bond movie franchise.
  • The car is mechanically the same, but it features many luxurious design elements both inside and out, beginning with the same Silver Birch exterior color as the DB5 from the 1964 film.
  • A total of only 60 Goldfinger Edition DB12s will be manufactured, with deliveries commencing in the spring of 2025.

As you can see, James Bond has always liked Aston Martin. He has driven a BMW 750iL and even a Toyota 2000GT, but the two have always gone well together. At least, that’s how it looks after 60 years of working together with the famous British company on the James Bond movies. To mark the event, they are showing off a special version of DB12.

DB12 Goldfinger Edition By Aston Martin Celebrates 60 Years With 007

This special anniversary model will only be made in 60 units by Q, Aston Martin’s high-end custom service. It’s actually called the Aston Martin D12 Goldfinger Edition. It has a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine that makes 671 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. The Goldfinger Edition’s engine will be mostly the same as the “standard” DB12, which came out in 2023.

Still, the Goldfinger Edition really shines in the little design details.

“The connection between Aston Martin and the James Bond series is something that will always be treasured,” said Marco Mattiacci, globally chief brand and commercial officer. “It is a remarkable opportunity to celebrate six decades of this partnership with an exceptional special edition, honoring the very first and arguably most iconic Aston Martin Bond car.”

The new Goldfinger car will be painted in the same silver birch color scheme as the famous DB5 from the 1964 movie to make it look like the car in the 1964 movie. The 21-inch wheels on the DB12 Goldfinger Edition, on the other hand, make it clear that the 20th century is over. The Goldfinger Edition also has shiny silver Aston Martin logos, black brake calipers, and gold side strakes on the outside.

The Goldfinger Edition’s inside really shows how skilled Q is. When you buy the Bond model, it comes with leather sports seats that are stitched and fit in the classic DB5 fluted design with a hint of the Prince of Wales check pattern. Aston Martin says that the royal pattern is also on the door cards and headlining. It’s a nod to James Bond’s famous suit design. Someone made an eight of hearts on the driver’s sun visor to refer to the card that was used in the last Miami poolside draw scene. The interior has been changed with 18-karat gold-plated decorations, a notched gear selector that looks like a tracking device, and a polished sill plaque with the Goldfinger 60th Anniversary logo.

Deluged with Gifts

Aston says that the 60 lucky buyers who are chosen for the Goldfinger Edition will be showered with gifts that are just as unique as the car itself. Some of the prizes are a Silver Birch Speedform model, a unique car cover and luxury key presentation box, and a 35mm film clip of Goldfinger’s scene at Furka Pass. In fact, Aston Martin is making magazines that are specially made for each owner. But how will people who buy the Goldfinger Edition carry everything? The 2007 vintage Champagne Bollinger magnum will need to be carried separately in the Globe-Trotter Air Cabin Case. Still, there is a Globe-Trotter attached case with the Prince of Wales check perforation pattern on the inside, too. It’s hard to live.

The exact steps for getting a DB12 Goldfinger Edition have yet to be made public, but we expect them to be pretty restricted. That’s likely the case since many limited-edition speed cars are already gone. All 60 of the units have already been claimed. In any case, the Bond-themed car will start being delivered for the first time in the spring of 2019.
