That would work a lot better. What does Delta want to do? Oh. This week, people flying through LAX might get just that. The airline is using a Porsche GT3 RS to help customers who have to get from one plane to another quickly. This will help them avoid the chaos of busy airport hubs and get them to their destinations on time. Think about this: As you worry about whether you’ll be able to make it on your next trip, your jet pulls up to the gate, and you hear, “Your GT3 RS awaits you, sir/madam.” Good job! Delta’s long-term relationship with Porsche led to this one-of-a-kind project. It’s not the first time the two have worked together to put some beautiful sheet metal on the road. Last summer, a Porsche 918 was used to transport high-class people through Atlanta’s Hartsfield Airport, which is home to both Delta and Porsche. The company also uses its Cayenne and Panamera fleets for the same purpose. This may be Delta’s secret weapon for staying on time more than any other flight in North America. It is reasonable to say that the Porsche of choice is only there for business reasons. It’s not faster for a GT3 RS transfer car to take people across an airport strip than a Cayenne, mostly for safety reasons but also because of strict rules about that kind of thing, but it will definitely get more attention. A red Porsche on fire on a runway is much more likely to get a picture taken and shared than just another blue SUV. Stuttgart’s track star will be at LAX until February 26. Even though the airline only said “select passengers,” it makes sense to think that this special offer will only be given to the best regular flyers, most likely Delta 360 members or clients who can get a lot of money back.
