• The company showed off some of the different body ideas for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma and said it would be shown on May 19.
  • Four silhouettes show that the next-generation Taco will come with a crew cab, an extended cab, a short wheelbase, and a long wheelbase.
  • One of the silhouettes pointed out that the new Trailhunter model had a big sports bar and a low-profile roof rack.

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma will still come in a variety of body styles, unlike mid-size competitors like the newly updated Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon, which only come in one. Toyota released four outlines today as part of a barrage of teasers leading up to the May 19 debut of the next-generation pickup truck.

Tacoma’s current version has an extended cab with a six-foot cargo bed and a crew cab with either a five- or six-foot bed. Images of the side profile of the new Tacoma show that there will be two cab styles and two-bed lengths. This means there will be a mix of short and long wheelbases, but we must determine if the bed lengths will be the same.

The four shapes look like a TRD Pro model, which can be seen from above because of its higher ride height. Toyota has already shown off the popular off-road model’s updated disc brakes and suspension. The suspension will use Fox QS3 coil overs with Toyota’s famous red springs. Like the current TRD Pro, it will only come in crew cab and short bed versions.

Toyota also shows off the new Trailhunter, which has a crew cab and a more extended box. Because of this mix, it has the most extended wheelbase of the group. The Trailhunter also has a big ARB sports bar and a low-profile ARB roof rack, which you can see from the side. A previous hint said the aftermarket business would also make the Trailhunter back bumper and red tow hooks.

We anticipate Toyota to continue dropping hints about the 2024 Tacoma, even if just a few weeks remain until the truck’s official premiere. In addition to the qualities we have already discussed, we know that the next-generation pickup truck will be available with a hybrid powertrain and a six-speed manual transmission as standard equipment. This information was previously unknown to us.
