The 2025 BMW M3, while retaining its distinctive bucktoothed grille, has been enhanced with a boost of 20 horsepower in the M3 Competition xDrive, BMW’s advanced iDrive 8.5 infotainment system, and subtle changes to the headlights. These updates promise a more engaging and technologically advanced driving experience.

Driving the 2025 BMW M3's turbo inline-six engine with 523 horsepower is more fun

There are still three power levels for the 3.0-liter inline-six twin-turbo engine from the M3. The base rear-wheel drive model, which is the only one with a six-speed manual gear, keeps its 473 horsepower. The RWD Competition model adds 503 horsepower. However, BMW says that the all-wheel-drive M3 Competition xDrive now has 523 horsepower instead of 503 horsepower. This is because the engine control system has been improved.

The M3 now has a higher torque peak, which means it can make 479 pound-feet of power between 2750 and 5730 rpm. It is thought that the BMW xDrive can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. With the extra M Driver’s Package, the top speed goes up to 180 mph, but it’s still only 155 mph.

The new headlights have angular LED parts that look like the ones on the latest M4. They can be used as turn signs and daytime running lights. The changes on the outside are small. There are also new choices for silver-colored forged alloy wheels. For competition cars, there is a silver border around the badges.

Inside the M3, the three-spoke leather steering wheel has been changed. It now has a flat bottom rim, and the red marking in the middle is still at noon. People who drive can choose Alcantara over leather. BMW has changed its operating system so that it now runs on a curved screen with a simpler way to control the climate. The air vents have been changed, and the voice helper has been improved so that it can now change the temperature and humidity.

Beginning in July, the 2025 BMW M3 will be made. Prices have gone up by $180. The Competition will now start at $81,375, and the RWD model will start at $77,175. The price goes up to $86,475 for the AWD Competition xDrive, which is $1,180 more than in 2024. The last M3 CS was built in the first quarter of this year; they are no longer being made.
