This new model is an updated version of the popular Land Rover Defender, known as the 2026 Defender Octa Black. Land Rover states that the exterior is painted Narvik Black, and 30 parts of the exterior are finished in a shiny or glossy black. The Octa Black has been added to the 2026 Defender lineup. It features a new 13.1-inch touchscreen in the center and updated headlights and taillights. Land Rover is introducing a new exterior package for the 2026 Defender, marking the brand’s first update since its return to the U.S. market in 2020. According to Land Rover, the Defender Octa Black showcases a more aggressive design for its top-selling model. True to its name, the Octa Black edition covers the newest Defender in an all-black finish. Land Rover says that thirty of its exterior parts were inspired by the Rolling Stones. The wheels, brake calipers, scuff plates, exhaust tips, and Land Rover logo are all glossy or gloss black. The exterior is coated in Narvik Black, which Land Rover refers to as the “truest black” in the entire Defender range. The pattern remains on the inside, featuring carbon-fiber trim throughout. The crossbar on the dashboard is satin black, the seats are ebony leather, and the backs of the chairs and armrests are Carpathian Grey. Similar to the rest of the Defender lineup, the Octa Black will receive updated features in 2026. On the outside, there are new standard fog lights, flush-mounted taillights, and an LED logo for the headlights. A new 13.1-inch touchscreen has been added to the Octa Black, replacing the 10.0-inch touchscreen in the middle. The regular Octa’s strength stays the same. The 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine produces 626 horsepower. The Octa should be able to reach 60 mph in less than 4 seconds, just like the 518-hp V-8-powered Defender 90, which did so in 4.4 seconds. Although the official price and availability haven’t been released yet, we believe it won’t be significantly more than the Octa’s starting price of $153,625.
