• In 2025, the Chevy Silverado HD gets a Trail Boss model level for the first time.
  • The heavy-duty Silverado with Trail Boss trim has black hoods, 20-inch wheels, badging that is unique to the trim, and Z71 suspension.
  • Since the Trail Boss is based on the LT and LTZ models, Chevy says the price will be announced later. However, it is expected to cost between $55,000 and $65,000.

The $72,000+ ZR2, which is Chevy’s most off-road-capable heavy-duty truck, is too expensive for many people to buy. Right now, the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado HD Trail Boss comes into play. The company hasn’t said how much the new trim will cost, but it should save a lot of money.

Finally, the Trail Boss treatment is put on the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD

HD Trail Boss Silverado for the first time

It’s been possible to get the Trail Boss option for the light-duty Silverado 1500 for a while now. This is the first time, though, that Chevrolet has taken the Silverado HD off-road. It comes with black bumpers on the front and back, as well as Z71-style chassis parts. The black outside has 20-inch wheels that stand out and tires that are more sharp.

Chevy has only shown one picture of the new Silverado HD Trail Boss, but it shows red tow hooks and stickers on the bedsides. We can’t wait for more callouts and custom headrests to be added inside. The heavy-duty Trail Boss is built on the LT and LTZ models. For the 2025 model year, the LT will start at about $51,000, and the LTZ will start at about $60,000. Each treatment for Trail Boss will cost between $4 and $5,000.

For 2025, Chevy also makes some small changes to the Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD types. The ZR2 came with front and back parking sensors as standard. The Work Truck, Custom, and LT trim levels now offer them as well. Brand-new 20-inch wheels have been added to the Midnight Edition. The Custom now has a Black-Out package, and the High Country comes with adaptive cruise control as standard.

It comes with a 6.6-liter gas-fed V-8 engine that makes 401 horsepower. You can also choose the Duramax diesel V-8 engine, which makes 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. The 2025 lineup is set to go on sale this summer, and Chevy says that price information will be released closer to the date.
