• The Wildcat idea led to the makeover of the 2025 Buick Enclave, which made the car bigger and gave the brand a new look.
  • The seven-seater mid-size SUV has a sleeker interior and a curved 30-inch screen. It is also the first Buick to use GM’s Super Cruise hands-free drive technology.
  • Every Enclave’s old 3.6-liter V-6 engine has been replaced by a new 2.5-liter turbo-4 engine with 328 horsepower and front—or all-wheel drive.

When the updated 2025 Buick Enclave comes out, the brand’s move into a new age of design is complete. From the Wildcat EV concept more than two years ago, the coupe’s muscular style has been used to shape the whole Buick lineup, from the wagon-like Envista and small Encore GX to the tiny Envision and now the new Enclave.

For 2025, Buick has brought back the Enclave, which is the brand's biggest SUV

A Newly Revived Neighborhood

The GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse, which came out not long ago, are related to the Buick Enclave and Traverse. All three of GM’s three-row mid-size SUVs look different and are aimed at different groups of people, but they all share the same frame and core parts. Buick’s Avenir price line is geared toward a different type of customer than Cadillac’s full-fledged luxury cars.

It gets three new trim options for 2025: Sport Touring (ST), Avenir, and Preferred. All of them are higher, wider, and bigger than the ones that came before them, even though they all have the same 120.9-inch wheelbase. You can choose a different hood and wheels for each grade. The Avenir comes with 20-inch wheels, while the Preferred and ST also come with 20-inch wheels.

It looks like each Enclave is more squared off. A cool new standard feature is a power liftgate that can open and close itself automatically. That way, people won’t be able to wave their feet around awkwardly under the back bumper. When you get close to the back of the SUV, the hatch will open after three beeps. The new Buick tri-shield emblem is now on the front part of the hood instead of the grille. The Enclave also has headlights that cover the whole width of the bumper. The outside lights of the Avenir all move, making a nice and dramatic effect.

The Enclave ST looks sportier than the Avenir because it has black body molding and other features that match. This is in contrast to the Avenir’s smooth outer trim and wheels. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine in all of them makes 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. With the trailering gear, the most weight that can be towed is still 5,000 pounds.

A new engine has been put in the Enclave to replace the old 3.6-liter V-6 engine that made 310 horsepower. An eight-speed automatic has been put in place of the nine-speed transmission that was there before. Any trim level can still get front- or all-wheel drive, but only the Avenir has adjustable dampers. Buick still needs to release fuel-economy numbers, but the new engine should get better gas mileage than the old model’s 21 mpg.

Inside the New Enclave

The inside of the Buick Enclave used to be nice, but is it now classy? Not like that. This gets better as design, materials, and technology do. The old-fashioned push-button shifter has been moved from the center panel to a stalk on the steering column. There is also now ambient lighting that can be changed. The Avenir has a lot of great interior color choices. For example, the dashboard, upper doors, and three-spoke steering wheel can all be a beautiful blue.

The new curved 30-inch dashboard screen, which has the entertainment system and an instrument cluster that can be changed, is still the most important part of the inside. Both of these use Google’s built-in features, like voice search, an app shop, and mapping with Amazon Alexa. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are both built-in and can link wirelessly. The static touch settings in the middle of the screen that can be adjusted are our favorite parts.

The Enclave Preferred and ST models come with a 12-speaker Bose radio and a charging station on the floating center panel that can be used wirelessly. The 16-speaker Bose sound system in the Avenir is more modern. The top model comes with the most luxurious front seats, each with massage, ventilated, and heated pillows. It also comes with a panoramic sunroof and heated second-row seats. In the Avenir’s base two trim levels, the Power package adds a head-up display and makes the second and third rows of seats fold down automatically.

All 2025 Buick Enclave models come with a full set of features that help the driver. Automatic emergency braking at intersections, blind spot help with steering intervention, traffic sign recognition, and lane-keeping aid are some of the new features. There are also seven views from the outside camera. With the extra Super Cruise package, that number rises to nine, and with the towing package, it drops to eight. The Buick is the first car from GM to offer a hands-free driving system. The Enclave has this feature on all three trim levels.

The price of the 2025 Buick Enclave has yet to be made public. We expect the prices of all of them to go up by at least $3000 when they go on sale later this summer. In other words, the Preferred will start at around $49,000, the ST at around $56,000, and the Avenir at or near $62,000.
