• The first 2026 Maserati MC Pura and MC Pura Cielo, previously known as the MC20, will be showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK from July 10 to 13, 2025.
  • Small changes have been made to Maserati’s supercar, like new seat designs and covers for the coupe that are a better fit.
  • The V-6 engine, equipped with two turbochargers, still produces 621 hp and 538 lb-ft of torque.

From 2026 To 2027, The Maserati MC20 Will Be Called The MC Pura

The MC20, Maserati’s stunning mid-engined supercar, is set to receive a new look after four years on the market. The low-slung Maserati car has a new name for its mid-cycle update: the MC Pura. The changes for 2026 are small, though. In 2026, Maserati will continue to provide both coupe and convertible variants of the Cielo. The bumpers will look better, with new colors, and the seats will feature a more intricate design.

The MCPura has the same general sinuous shape as the MC20. The most notable updates are found on the front and rear fascias. The grille’s black frame features a stronger flare that extends downward from the main body, giving it a trapezoidal shape rather than an oval one. The front splitter has been modified, and the vents under the headlights are now more streamlined. The rear bumper appears more bent, but it retains the same basic shape.

Maserati has released the new Maserati Coupé in AI Aqua Rainbow, a color that accentuates the coupe’s matte finish and the Cielo’s shiny look. If you look at the sun from different angles, its blue color can change and reveal hints of other colors. Maserati is also changing the MCPura’s color to Night Interaction, Verde Royale, and Devil Orange.

The outside badges have also been given a new finish. It has “MCPura” written on the sides of the car, Trident logos on the C-pillar and inside the grille, and symbols on the center caps of the wheels. All of these are magenta with blue mica flakes. The badges have a matte finish on the convertible and a glossy finish on the coupe, complementing each model’s paint scheme.

The inside seats now feature Alcantara that has been laser-etched, creating a design of uneven vertical stripes that resemble worn-out tires. Maserati states that the laser-etching process lends the new seat designs a three-dimensional, layered appearance. For example, the back of each seat has a shimmering red and blue pattern on one side and a red and blue iridescent pattern on the other. Additionally, the MCPura’s cabin is identical to that of the MC20.

The MC20 and MCPura both feature the same 3.0-liter “Nettuno” V-6 twin-turbo engine, which produces 621 horsepower. The engine still produces 538 pound-feet of torque, and power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.  According to Maserati, the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of more than 202 mph. A 2022 MC20 reached 60 mph in 3.2 seconds during invoice-pricing tests. Maserati states that the MC Pura car weighs 3,043 pounds when dry, while the MC20 weighs 3,757 pounds.

Like the MC20, the MCPura has beautiful butterfly doors. It also features a movable electrochromic glass roof that can be switched from clear to opaque with the touch of a button, similar to the Cielo. In the third quarter of 2025, the MCPura will be made at Maserati’s plant in Modena, Italy. Sales in the U.S. are set to begin in December. As of now, the MCPura starts at $242,995 for the car and $276,995 for the Cielo. When it goes on sale, the exact price will be announced, but we expect it to increase slightly.
