The Super Venom is Hennessey’s most expensive Mustang right now. It’s built on the Mustang GT and Dark Horse models, and there are only 91 of them. The tuner boasts a 10.9-second quarter-mile time, trimming 1.1 seconds from the standard Mustang Dark Horse’s run. The Super Venom can be bought right now, and it comes with both the full Ford factory warranty and a three-year/36,000-mile Hennessey guarantee. Hennessey Performance, a loud Texas-based tuner, modulator, and high-performance car company, now has the Super Venom Mustang as a new weapon in its inventory. There are only 91 of them, and they were made to honor Hennessy’s founding in 1991. It’s not a surprise that the changes start under the hood, where the Hennessey horsepower experts add 350 horsepower for a total of 850 horsepower, which is 70% more than the normal engine’s 500 horsepower. Both have their strongest torque at 4900 rpm, but the new Dark Horse has 650 pound-feet of torque, which is 55% more than the stock 418. There are two types of transmissions: a six-speed manual and a ten-speed automatic. Hennessey doesn’t say anything specific about the parts used to improve this performance. They did improve the fuel injectors and fuel pump, put in a high-performance supercharger fed by a high-flow air induction system, and used a custom Hennessey engine management system to handle everything. They raised the stakes, which shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who knows the shop. The outside is covered in signature ’91 Icon livery to honor the anniversary of Hennessey’s start in 1991. (Do you get it?) The black, silver, and red colors of the ’91 package are meant to stand out from the original paint schemes and go well with them. The “VenomAero” carbon-fiber update has a working hood vent, front fender louvers, a more aggressive front splitter, side skirts, a fixed rear track wing that looks scary, and a duck bill that is built into the carbon-fiber deck lid. There are also “H” badges from Hennessey on the fenders, brand writing on the deck lid, and 20-inch lightweight wheels. Carbon-fiber engine cover parts with a plaque with the car’s license number are used to decorate the engine bay. Hennessey also says their products offer better cooling, which is good for any car that is focused on the track. Custom-made Hennessey leather and Alcantara seat upholstery in blue or black is one of the internal upgrades. The Hennessey logo is also embossed, as usual. The majority of seats are “comfort” seats, but Recaro racing seats are superior. The middle panel has been trimmed down, and there is a plaque with the serial number of your Super Venom Mustang. (There is another one on the panel for people who forget.) Hennessey all-weather floor mats finish off the set. Hennessey says that the Super Venom Mustang package is available for $149,950 on the Mustang GT and $163,950 on the Mustang Dark Horse. At this price, it seems silly to pick the GT, but variety is the spice of life. At this time, you can buy the Super Venom Mustang directly from either Hennessey or an approved Ford dealer.
