Hyundai introduced an updated version of the Ioniq 6 electric sedan today at the Seoul Mobility Show. The Ioniq 6 is updated with slender daytime running lights, redesigned bumpers, and slight modifications to the interior. Hyundai hinted at the imminent debut of the Ioniq 6 N, which is expected to share the Ioniq 5 N’s 641-horsepower dual-motor powertrain. The stylish Hyundai Ioniq 6 was released for the 2023 model year and has many of the same great features as the Ioniq 5. However, it hasn’t been as popular in the US as its SUV cousin. The Ioniq 6 won our EV of the Year award in 2023 because it had a range of 342 miles and could be charged quickly, thanks to the E-GMP platform. Hyundai is currently redesigning its electric car, which will be shown for the first time at the Seoul Mobility Show in South Korea. At the event in Seoul, Hyundai only talked about the new look and didn’t give any details about the new Ioniq 6. Hyundai’s narrow daytime running lights are made up of four LED lines with four small squares on each end. They continued the speckled pattern started on the Ioniq 5 and made the car look even sleeker, even though the Ioniq 6 was already very aerodynamic. The bumper has been completely reworked to give the Ioniq 6 a lower, wider look. The main headlight units are now placed on it. The Ioniq 6 stands out more thanks to the black border that goes along the side and up over the doors. Hyundai didn’t show any pictures of the back, but the company says that the big spoiler on the current Ioniq 6 has been replaced with a new extended ducktail spoiler that has a smoother top and the same aerodynamic performance. Even though the pictures below show cams instead of normal side-view mirrors, this technology probably won’t be sold in the US because of rules and regulations. The steering wheel now has a third spoke at the bottom, but the body is mostly the same. There are also more climate controls, and the center panel has been redesigned to be more comfortable to use. Plus, Hyundai says the materials used to make the door panels are better than before. Hyundai also released the sporty N Line model, which looked sporty. The front bumper looks like a black mask because of black panels that swoop down and then rise up into small winglets at the edge of the car. Aside from that, the N Line has unique wheels and different N Line logos all over its body. Take a closer look at the Ioniq 6 N teaser What’s even more exciting is that one of the shots shows a small part of a real Ioniq 6 that is designed to improve performance. Hyundai says that the Ioniq 6 N will be released in July, and the preview gives us some information about it. The deep blue Ioniq 6 N looks like it has a big rear wing, a ducktail spoiler, and a blacked-out back bumper. The Ioniq 6 N would have the same 641-hp engine as the Ioniq 5 N and look a lot like the 2022 RN22e design. We don’t know much about the improved Ioniq 6 yet, but we should learn more in the next few months. The new version of the Ioniq 6 should be ready in the US in 2026.
