• In a conversation with Autocar, Bugatti’s former head of design, Achim Anscheidt, who had just left the company, it was said that the creation of the company’s next hypercar was done.
  • As a result of Bugatti’s merger with the electric hypercar experts at Rimac, the next Bugatti will not have a W-16 engine but a hybrid V-8 engine.
  • The next Bugatti car after the Chiron will have a horseshoe grille and C-shaped panels on the sides.

The company will start a new era with its latest hypercar. In an interview with Autocar, the former head of design at Bugatti, Achim Anscheidt, said that the replacement for the Chiron will be unveiled next year and will go into production in 2026. Most importantly, the new Bugatti has a V-8 hybrid engine instead of the company’s famous W-16 engine. This is likely thanks to the electrical expertise of Croatian carmaker Rimac, which joined Bugatti in 2021.

Anscheidt said, “We delivered the prototype tooling a few months ago, and the production tooling will be delivered in a few months.” Anscheidt’s last project as head of style at Bugatti will be the car that comes after the Chiron. He said, “I wanted to make sure that this helped make the car better.” “Everything I’ve tried to figure out and learn about Bugatti over the past nineteen years.”

The next Bugatti will still have the horseshoe-shaped grille and C-shaped side panels that have been on every model since the Type 57 in 1934. By putting a smaller V-8 engine on a new body and getting rid of the big W-16 engine, the car should be lighter. Also, Frank Heyl, the head of design at Bugatti, said that the company had to “reconsider the architecture of the whole car” to add the batteries for the hybrid part.

Aldo Maria Sica, the brand’s interior designer, says that while the inside will be similar to the Chiron in terms of good looks and many settings, the engine will significantly change from previous Bugattis. A giant touchscreen in the middle could control the infotainment system of the Chiron’s replacement. The Chiron and all of its limited-production children didn’t have this feature.

The new Bugatti hypercar will likely cost even more than the Mistral, which cost $5 million and was the last Bugatti to use the W-16 engine. Only 99 Mistrals were made. After the replacement for the Chiron comes out, Bugatti will turn its attention to its first electric car, which will depend significantly on the company’s relationship with Rimac.
