After the 2018 model year, the S E-Hybrid name was taken away briefly, but Porsche plans to return it for the 2024 Porsche Cayenne. The Cayenne S E-Hybrid has 512 horsepower, which puts it between the Cayenne E-Hybrid, 463 horsepower, and the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, 729 horsepower.

The S E-Hybrid has the same 348-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine as the regular Cayenne. It comes in two body styles: a fastback and a wagon, which in Porsche-speak are called an SUV and a coupe. It also has an electric engine with 174 hp. Porsche says the two are strong enough to get the SUV from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds.

Like the other Cayenne E-Hybrid, the S E-Hybrid has a battery pack with a maximum capacity of 25.9 kWh. The SUV’s battery pack can be fully charged in two and a half hours using an 11.0-kW charger connected to a 240-volt outlet. The EPA thinks that you should be able to drive more than 20 miles on just the battery. On the other hand, Porsche hasn’t said anything about how far its cars can go.

The E-Hybrid wagon, which starts at $100,750, costs $7400 less than the S E-Hybrid wagon. This price includes 20-inch wheels and tires, quad tailpipes, LED headlights with automatic high beams, the Sport Chrono package with steering-wheel-mounted drive mode setting, and a proximity key with push-button start.

The Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupe costs $4900 more than the base model. Along with its flowing shape, the fastback S E-Hybrid has black trim instead of the silver trim on the wagon. Early in 2024, both body styles of the 2024 Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid will go on sale.
