The 2024 Genesis G70 car has a new base engine based on specs from Korea. A more potent 2.5-liter turbocharged engine has been replaced with the smaller 2.0-liter turbo-four engine. Even though Genesis hasn’t officially shown off this new engine for the US market yet, we should soon. For the 2024 model year, the Genesis G70 sports car seems to think that more horsepower is the only way to be successful. The Genesis base model for the Korean market has been shown off. With the base model, it gets a more powerful 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-four engine instead of the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine. Genesis has yet to announce that the 2024 G70 will be sold in the US, but we think it will be here soon. It has 48 more horsepower and 51 more pound-feet of torque than the 2.0L engine, which has 300 more horsepower and 311 more. The Genesis GV70, G80, and GV80 all come with this engine. You can still choose between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, and it still has an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The 3.3-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine that has been changed still makes 365 horsepower (368 horsepower if the improved exhaust is chosen). There is now a Sport package for the 2.5T car in Korea. It comes with summer tires, Brembo brakes, and a limited-slip differential. Like the V-6 type, it gets a slight boost in power from its twin exhaust, which brings the total to 303 horsepower. We hope Genesis will also offer this setup in the United States. From what we can see of the Korean car’s interior, we expect the dashboard to be changed somehow. Below the air vents is a new row of buttons, and the climate settings are switching to a touch-sensitive system. The G70 was last revised in 2022 when it got a giant touchscreen and a new look on the front. Soon, we’ll have more news about the 2024 Genesis G70. It should be available for purchase by the end of this year.
