• In 2024, the Mercedes-Benz GLB class will get a slight makeover that includes new features inside and minor changes to the outside.
  • The 10.3-inch screens, which used to be an extra part of the Premium package, are now standard. This is the most significant change inside the car.
  • The GLB250 and the AMG-tuned GLB35 now have 48-volt hybrid systems that can add up to 13 horsepower, depending on how you drive.

When it came out in 2020, the Mercedes-Benz GLB-class filled a gap between the subcompact GLA and the compact GLC. It was the smallest SUV on the market with a third row of seats, though it was best for kids. In 2024, the GLB will get a light update that will include updated infotainment, a range of electric engines, and some minor style changes.

Most things have stayed the same in how things look. The LED graphics on the headlights and taillights have been updated, but the front bumper and grille have only been changed in small ways. New 18- and 20-inch wheels and Spectral Blue metallic paint are added to the GLB.

Interior Renovations

Inside, the two 10.3-inch screens that used to be part of the Premium package are now standard. This is a significant improvement over the 7.0-inch screens that came with the base model in 2023. The GLB now comes with Mercedes’ MBUX infotainment system, which also works with Apple Carp lay and Android Auto over the air. The GLB also has an extra USB-C and more powerful USB ports.

Mercedes also has automatic high beams, a parking package with a camera that can see in all directions, and a nappe leather-covered steering wheel. The GLB AMG Line package comes with a heated steering wheel for the first time.

Inside the engine

The GLB’s 48-volt hybrid system for the 2.0-liter inline-four turbocharged engine adds 13 horsepower when it’s needed to help speed up or let the car coast with the engine off. The setup also improves the smoothness of the start/stop system and uses the energy recovered during braking to charge the 48-volt and 12-volt batteries. Maximum power and torque stay at 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet, respectively.

The sporty Mercedes-AMG GLB35 gets the same kinds of updates for 2024, such as new exterior lights, an AMG Performance steering wheel, and the same infotainment and phone connectivity improvements. The 48-volt hybrid system adds 13 horsepower to the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine’s 302 horsepower and 295 pound-feet.

There are also new 19- and 20-inch wheel styles for the AMG GLB35. The 2024 GLB class will go on sale later this year. The base prices of the 2023 GLB250 ($40,950) and GLB35 ($52,650) will increase by a small amount.
