• This afternoon, a movie was put on YouTube to promote the 2024 Nissan Z NISMO.
  • The movie shows the next NISMO Z for the first time. It shows off the car’s new body kit and improved Dunlop SP Sport Maxx summer tires.
  • Nissan has promised further details later this summer, so it’s likely that the car will be available for purchase before the year’s end.

The 2024 Nissan Z NISMO version designed for the track is near the top. In a 45-second teaser video, the company put out, we could see some exciting hints about the new car. We’ve seen photos of the NISMO before, but they were blurry because spies took them. This is the most precise picture we’ve seen so far.

A Better Body

The video shows right away that the car has a new body kit. Even though the NISMO upgrade makes the coupe look even more aggressive, the essential Z is far from shy. The front and back bumpers of the car have a unique angular look, and the famous red line that goes from the front lip to the back diffuser is back. The vehicle has a much stronger stance thanks to the new duckbill spoiler that goes over the wheel arches.

In the video, three-time Formula Drift winner Chris Forsberg drives fast around a racetrack in a Nissan NISMO Z. We care more about the real tires he breaks in the film. On the NISMO Z, the Bridgestone Potenza S007 summer tires that come on the regular model are swapped out for the stickier Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tires. We’ve already talked about how easy it is for the Z’s tires to wear out, so this change should improve its performance.

More kicks?

Almost certainly, the NISMO-tuned Z will have a lot more speed. Unfortunately, we won’t know until Nissan releases all the details later this summer. The twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 engine in the original car makes 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, but rumours say the NISMO version could make up to 500 horsepower. We’ll have to wait and see if the six-speed manual transmission of the standard Z is also available since the car in the video is automatic (the paddles on the steering wheel show this).

Prices for the Z range will start between $42,085 and $55,085 in 2024, but they have yet to be announced. The NISMO will begin in the low to middle $60,000 range. This is because we expect the horsepower to increase and the performance technology to improve. Nissan said that more information would be released later this summer, which could mean that the Z will be added to the range before the end of the year.
