The second-generation Cadillac CT6 car with rear-wheel drive will only be sold in China. The engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four, and the 33-inch screen on the dashboard is covered in leather. Cadillac also showed off its new SUV, the GT4, which is part of the brand’s lineup in China and keeps the enormous curved screen. Cadillac’s sales in the U.S. have been going down for 30 years, but things are much better in China, where the brand sold about 60,000 more cars than in its home country. Cadillac has shown off a new version of its vast CT6 car, which will no longer be sold in the U.S. after 2020. It will start with a new SUV called the GT4. With its clean, simple form and vertical taillights, the CT6 resembles the car it replaces. Above the main headlights, thin LED running lights flow into the wide grille, shaped like the Cadillac crest. Inside, a curved 33-inch screen takes up most of the dashboard, and the rest is covered in soft Napa leather and open-pore wood with metal accents. There are 26 different colors of background lights to choose from. The CT6 still has rear-wheel drive, but the Chinese version has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine instead of the V-6 and V-8 engines found in the American CT6. The CT6 will also have Super Cruise, G.M.’s hands-free highway driving system that changes lanes for you when needed. Cadillac also showed off its new GT4, which the company called a “coupe-style SUV.” Even though the crossover is lower than the more upright XT4, which also competes in the compact SUV market, cars like the BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe are more coupe-like. Like the CT6, the GT4 gets a Sports package with 19-inch black metal wheels, a black roof, and other darkened parts. The GT4 has a 33-inch screen, a 15-speaker sound system, a color head-up display, heated or excellent front seats, and a 360-degree surround-view video. Under the hood is either a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine or a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with four cylinders. The four-cylinder engines have hybrid systems with 48 volts and a nine-speed automatic gear. It offers an all-wheel drive GT4, but the front-wheel movement is expected. The GT4 will start at about $31,000 in today’s money. Because Americans are becoming less interested in sedans, the CT6 may only be sold in China. However, the GT4 might come to the U.S.
