Volkswagen has shared new information about the Tiguan’s third version. Volkswagen says a new plug-in hybrid model can go up to 62 miles on power alone. The new Tiguan will come out in 2024 as a 2025 model. At the 2006 Detroit car show, Volkswagen stopped making the second generation of the Tiguan. With only one recent change to how it looks planned for 2022, it’s about time we heard rumours of a third generation. Volkswagen is getting ready to release the third version of its Tiguan SUV by the end of this year. There will likely be a complete makeover and a lot of new technology added. Volkswagen says the new Tiguan will come with the adaptive suspension technology first seen on the current-generation GTI. The technology changes the electronic differential locks and the lateral dynamic shock absorbers parts to improve how the car handles. So, the next Tiguan should be both more capable and more comfy. The range of an EV is 62 miles. Volkswagen also plans to release a brand-new plug-in hybrid car that can travel up to 62 miles on electric power alone. According to the company, the charging speeds of the next wave of AC devices will be faster, and standard fast charging will be possible for DC devices. Even though the cars in Volkswagen’s photos are all highly hidden, it’s easy to see that the body lines are much softer. Most likely, the pictures show the short-wheelbase version, which will only be sold in Europe. However, the long-wheelbase version will probably be sold in the United States. When production of the new Tiguan starts, it will be built on the MQB Evo base, which is also used to make the MK8 Golf and MK4 Audi A3. The inside of the Tiguan is just as clean as the outside. In the middle of the dashboard is a vast new optional 15-inch navigation screen set up in landscape mode. Like VW ID cars, the gear switch has been moved to the steering column. In place of the Driving Experience Control dial in the central console, there is now a screen that can be used to change the colours of the ambient lighting, the drive mode, and the radio’s volume. VW says the new Tiguan is about an inch longer than the last version, even though the official numbers haven’t yet been released. Volkswagen says it has added approximately one cubic foot of room behind the back seats. When the car comes out in the fall, there will be more details about pricing and features. Plans call for the new Tiguan to be finished and put on sale as a 2025 model the following year.
