It only happens twice a year at the Camping World Drag Racing Series four-wide at the zymad Dragan in Concord, North Carolina, and on the Strip at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In the 1960s, famous dragstrips like Lions Dragstrip, Buds’ Creek, Riverside, and Byron Dragan often ran four-across, so the idea is familiar. The idea fell out of favor in the 1970s, but in 2010, Briton Smith and his Speedway Motorsports company brought it back. The odd four-wide drag race is getting more and more people to watch it. During the NHRA’s spring stop at zymad Dragan, we saw the loud and fast nitro-burning Funny Car and Top Fuel race cars.
