• INEOS gave a sneak peek of the Quartermaster, a pickup truck based on the Grenadier SUV, before its official debut at next month’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
  • The door is broad and robust from a blurry picture, and the round taillights are the same as on the Grenadier SUV.
  • At Goodwood, INEOS will also show off a hydrogen fuel cell-powered prototype, but it needs to be clarified how close the idea is to being ready for mass production.

The British chemistry company INEOS launched its first car, the Grenadier 4×4, in France last November. This was the company’s first step into a new market. By the end of 2023, INEOS plans to sell its fake Land Rover Defender in the United States. At the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month, INEOS will show off a new pickup truck model and a hydrogen-powered prototype. This will be before the Grenadier comes to the U.S.

Today, INEOS showed a picture of the Grenadier Quartermaster, a future car. The Quartermaster will start as a double cab, and there is no word on whether or not a regular taxi will be an option. From the cab forward, we expect it to be the same as the Grenadier SUV. The SUV still has one round taillight, but the video shows a tailgate that looks tough and has the word “Grenadier” written on it. The whole of The Quartermaster will be displayed before the July 13 Goodwood Hill Climb begins.

INEOS will also show a hydrogen fuel cell technology prototype based on the Grenadier and the Quartermaster. Even though INEOS has been interested in hydrogen power in the past, this will be the first fuel-cell prototype from the new carmaker. No further information was given, but more information was needed before the FCEV Demonstrator tried the famous hill climb.

By the end of this year, you can buy the Grenadier SUV in the United States for a starting price of $73,100. A BMW 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with 282 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque powers the Grenadier. INEOS says this car with BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires and front and rear electronic locking differentials will get 15 mpg on the highway.
