• Chevrolet has confirmed that the 2024 Silverado EV RST First Edition will be priced and made available.
  • Since Chevy first released it, the RST First Edition has lost $10,000 in price. It now starts at $96,395.
  • The company also gave a new range estimate for the RST: 440 miles instead of 400 miles.

The market for electric pickups will grow now that Chevy has confirmed the price and release of the 2024 Silverado EV RST First Edition. The company said they would lower the prices, but only for this fully equipped model, which starts at $96,395. Chevy’s original price estimate for the most-equipped pickup was $106,895, so this is a big price drop. Prices for future trim levels will be available a little while before they come out.

It will cost $96,395 and have a longer range than the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST First Edition

Chevy not only announced cheaper prices, but they also changed how far the RST was supposed to go, adding 40 miles to the estimate. The only device with a shorter range than the RST is the 4WT, which has a range of about 450 miles. At least on paper, the new number shows that the Silverado EV has a longer range than the Ford F-150 Lightning, the Hummer EV, the Rivian R1T, and the Tesla Cybertruck.

Since the RST First Edition costs a lot, it comes with a lot of useful features. Chevy says that this all-wheel-drive car with a high-end interior can pull up to 10,000 pounds and has a top power output of 754 horsepower. The 4WT we tried surprised us with its straightforward attitude and smooth ride, even though it had a simple interior and cost a lot.

When the electric pickup first comes out, it will only be in the 4WT Work Truck trim. The 3WT trim, which costs less and has a range of 393 miles, comes next. After the Work Truck models, the RST First Edition will be released in mid-2024. The rest of the range will be released at an unspecified later date.
