As someone who drove a Land Rover Discovery TDi in Borneo during the 1993 Camel Trophy and narrowly escaped death at every turn, we at Invoice-pricing can say that the British company and its cars know how to take adventure to the next level. Land Rover will launch a new worldwide adventure series called Defender Trophy in 2026, along with a special Defender 110 Trophy Edition car. This remains true, even though the notoriously difficult Camel Trophy and the G4 Challenge that followed it are no longer open to the public.

Land Rover Is Holding A Contest To See Who Can Master The New Defender 110 Trophy Edition

Featuring expedition-ready components and a distinctive celebratory design, the new Defender 110 Trophy Edition is set to be the go-to off-road vehicle for the race. There are two colors of the special edition model: Kenswick Green and Deep Sandglow Yellow. The second one is a tribute to the deep greens of the UK, while the first one is based on a color often found on old Camel Trophy cars. Stickers made just for the Trophy are applied to the shiny black hood, C-pillars, and rear tailgate. The Ebony Windsor Leather seats maintain the car’s luxury.

Aside from the unique colors and stickers, most of the Trophy Edition’s exterior upgrades are already available on the regular four-door Defender through the $5400 Explorer Pack. These improvements will be particularly useful during the Defender Trophy. It protects against threats under the body with a front undershield, a back scuff plate, and wheel arch protection. The shiny black 20-inch wheels, paired with all-terrain tires, should be able to handle rough terrain, and the larger air intake is designed to filter out dust clouds in the air. The Trophy Edition features a large rack on the roof, a gear carrier on the side, and a roof ladder that can be extended to access items stored above. Having space for gear is usually an important part of long safaris.

It is now possible to purchase the Trophy Edition, which costs over $121,000.

The Discovery Trophy’s primary objective is to test the new limited-edition model. Still, contestants from over 50 countries will compete in regional rounds before advancing to the global final in Africa. Land Rover announced that participants in the competition will encounter “driving challenges, ingenuity challenges, and physical challenges,” though it did not provide specific details about what those challenges will involve.

The team’s progress will be shown online, and the African final will be held in the fall of 2026 by Tusk, an African animal protection group. Land Rover stated that the winner would “have the opportunity to leave a positive legacy with the people and places impacted by the Defender Trophy” once the tour concludes.

You can get dirty soon if you live in a participating country, are at least 23 years old, can drive in another country, can swim 50 meters, and speak English well.
