Mercedes-Benz’s highest GLC-Class trim offers a few surprises. In early 2024, the 2024 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 SUV will be sold in the U.S., followed by the 2025 GLC 63 S E Performance SUV. AMG’s first hybrid SUV, the GLC 63 S E Performance, delivers. Mercedes-AMG claims 671 horsepower and 752 lb-ft. It has an automated speed restriction of 171 mph and can reach 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. The E Performance Hybrid P3 has a front combustion engine and a rear electric drive unit (EDU). The electric motor and electronic two-speed transmission form the electronic limited-slip rear differential (EDU). Affalterbach-built 2.0-liter four-cylinder AMG M139l (“L” for longitudinal) engines produce 469 horsepower and 402 lb-ft of torque. AMG claims it is the world’s most powerful four-cylinder engine and the only one with an automated exhaust gas turbocharger for sale. This engine’s turboshaft has a tiny electronic-controlled electric motor. It accelerates the compressor wheel. The gasoline engine is paired with a permanently excited synchronous electric motor (107 horsepower continuous, 201 horsepower peak for ten seconds, and 236 lb-ft of torque), a high-performance 400-volt 6.1kWh battery with an innovative direct cooling system, and the AMG Performance fully variable 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system for responsive, performance-oriented driving. In certain situations, the electric motor can produce power, torque, and all-electric driving (range will be mentioned). The new C63 S E Performance appears to modify the system. The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 SUV’s 2.0-liter engine produces 416 hp and 369 lb-ft. This engine has a smaller turbine than the GLC 63 S. 4MATIC all-wheel drive always splits power between the front (31% of energy) and back (69% of capacity) wheels. A second-generation belt-driven starting generator (RSG) boosts power, glides, and recovers. AMG claims the GLC 43 can reach 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and peak at 155 mph. The AMG Night Package Plus comprises dark chrome highlights and high-gloss black exterior elements. The AMG exterior Carbon Fiber Package adds carbon fibre styling. Finally, the AMG Performance Studio Package makes the GLC 43 sportier.
