• Mercedes-Benz has said that a smaller, more affordable G-class SUV will be coming out.
  • The automaker also announced its intention to revamp its design language, ensuring that both future electric vehicles and combustion-engine cars share a cohesive aesthetic.
  • The automaker made these announcements during a recent investor-relations presentation.

Mercedes-Benz has finally confirmed that a smaller version of the G-class, widely known as the Wagen, will be made. There had been rumors about this for years. The news was given at an investor relations meeting for Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes-Benz Changes The Design Of The G-Wagon And Confirms Its Smaller Size

Please don’t let our thoughts run wild, but we still don’t know anything else about the new G-class. Current rumors say that the Baby G will only be offered as an electric car. That doesn’t bother us, especially since Mercedes already sells an electric G-class.

Mercedes has tried in the past to make the G-wagen’s spirit come out in a smaller package. Do you remember the idea of GLB? Even though we don’t think it will be as bold as the first one, the new SUV will not miss the spirit of the G as much as the last GLB did.

During the same event, Mercedes said it was going to completely change its style language. At the moment, Mercedes’s entire line of electric vehicles stands out from cars that run on gas. They look great and would look great on your bathroom bar. Things will soon change.

In the future, Mercedes will follow BMW’s lead and offer a single model with gasoline, hybrid, and battery-electric drivetrain options. This is a complete 180-degree turn from how Merc currently works, which includes both gas-powered and electric cars. Even though the G-class and G-class EV are already out there, the update will first come to the new CLA-class.
